I also found two lbs of Tightgroup at Cabelas today.

Powder supply is looking better and better....... Are the "empty shelf days" behind us? Even if some crazy person pulls something horrible?

I picked up 2 lbs of tightgroup at cabellas as well, didn't need it cause I have 4 lbs of 231 but figure it would be nice to have varity(sp). I payed 21.99 or 22.99 a lb. For the tightgroup. Tried to get 308 bullets but they went up. Last time I bought was 22.99 for 165 grn spitzer for 100 of Sierra.

My local new Bass Pro Shops has a huge assortment of powder but it's all 40% higher than Cabellas and most local retailers. Too bad.

Found 3 1 lbrs. for $100.00 of W231 And I was doing some haggling trust me! aint going to say what primers were" allot! Brass nope! But that's down here, Gun Show. Got a good deal on 45acp. range brass on one of our forums!

Went to gun show today there was a fair amount of powder and primers. W231 hp38 for $24 tight group for $22. Don't remember the rest of prices but most were $27 or less. CCI Primers were $30.

I skipped the gun show yesterday. Two reasons.

1. I'm broke.

2. I talked to my son who was there and the powder selection was pitiful and Winchester WSP primers were $33. No CCI small pistol.

No need to go. :)

Primers are 25 per 1k at the gun shows here. Powder is still pretty scarce. I only go to them for the pieces parts. Haven't purchased a firearm at a gun show in about 2 years now.

Great Thread!!!

I got a couple of 8 pounders of Titegroup from Powder Valley. Got some primers as well. That should get me through the summer.

Bass pro reality

Everyone loves bass pro because of the free ship to store option and no hazmat. While I have bought a lot from them, in store and ship to store, the "savings" is a total fallacy. Usually, in fact since I've been buying from them always, they only have 1 pound containers. Nice if you just want a pound or two and are desperate. However, if you seek 8 lbs, you really are not saving anything.

Example: Bullseye 8 lbs........(8) 1 lbs x $28.99 = $232.00 (rounded up 1 cent to $29.00

Recobs: 8 lbs Bullseye $125.39 + $28.00 hazmat + 12 shipping = $165.39

Their real "deal" is if you cant find a powder and only want a pound or two. I mean who would order 1 or 2 and pay 28 bucks plus shipping?

Plus, this example does not take into account adding a bunch of primers to split the hazmat fee proportionately......BP only seems to have primers 100 at a time and its usually at least $4.00 per hundred, $40.00 per 1000 at that price, my LGS and certainly the area gun shows are cheaper by the 1000.

Still yet, when I see something I want in 1 lbs, I will usually pick it up, and usually its on the shelf when I do pick up, so why not bolster my supplies?

Just feeling contentious today I suppose!

I know this is a different reloading, but does anyone know where I can find some CCI #10's percussion caps and some FFFg or equivalent?

I'm in Little Rock, Arkansas if someone know somewhere local.

I can't seem to find any anywhere.

Do I continue to hold out for the elusive HP38 or do I try a new powder? It's a tough choice since I don't want to buy less then 16lbs.

BTW I'm loading cast bullets in 45acp and 9mm

I picked up a keg of red dot about a year ago for 45acp and 9mm and haven't looked back.

I got back from Grices Gun Shop in Clearfield PA a few hours ago. They're having a 3 day sale which started today. They had just about every powder available, generally $23 for 1 lb. and $145 to $165 for 8 lbs., some ever cheaper. They had Clays, WW231, and about every IMR and Hodgden powder made. No restrictions except for 4 powders, which included Bullseye and Unique which had a 1 lb. limit. Alliant powders went for $24 to $28/lb., Winchester $20 to $22.

Primers too.

Today was the first day of the sale and we got there right after they opened. Shooters were descending like locusts so who knows what they have left.

Picked up two more 8lb jugs of Titegroup and an additional 15,000 Federal SPP at my LGS today. Never have enough! Good prices too. $17.50/lb for the TG and $150/case for the primers.
