Well, it's run IDPA style and much more than a local match. I say IDPA style because it is not sanctioned and we don't try to teach cops all the IDPA rules for a single match.

10 stages (plus side stages), lots of giveaways (including guns), a BBQ lunch, t-shirts, awards, and your chance to prove how cops can't shoot. Add onto that the entry fee goes to a great cause (C.O.P.S. charity and helping local officers buy the equipment their budgets won't) and $75.00 looks like a pretty good deal compared to any match of comparable size.

Last year we gave away over $5000 worth of prizes, a bonus but admittedly not the main purpose.

It's a lot of fun so I hope some high roaders will make it out this year.

Sounding better and better.
I am working on a posse to shoot and a potential sponsor.

Are you an organizer? I have a technical question re equipment.

I'm the match director. So I would be the one to ask.

Hope you all can shoot with us.

OK
Program says: "Single stack firearms, i.e. 1911 style .45, are acceptable for use but their magazines shall fit flush as a factory magazine"

What about my Tripp Cobramags with basepads? I don't want to have to do a fast reload with a GI magazine, this way lies blood blisters.

I have other guns, but I shoot best with my Colt or SA.

Yes, of course. The Tripp Cobramags are fine.

We are simply trying to keep the weapons as close to standard duty style as possible. Most of our shooters are cops who don't/can't make mods to their guns, the match is of course for Police Week, and we want to stay true to that ideal to keep everyone on a level playing field.

Race gun mods are not ok. A base plate to prevent pinching without trying to "game" the police match. More than ok.

Just a reminder to the THR folks. We'd love to have you come out and shoot with us May 9th. See if you can't prove that cops can't shoot.
