What is your favorite bullet with this powder?

Hunting performance is a primary concern, but so is accuracy.

Looking for a solid performer for coyotes to Deer, so heavier bullets would be preferred.

I run a host of different powders with the .243 win, IMR-4831 is certainly a great choice and has performed exceptionally for me. I also like RL22, RL19 H4831, Varget, and a bunch of others.

My favorite bullet for deer is the 90 gr. Speer Hot Core.

For varmints I like the Speer 70 gr. TNT.

Best load I ever got with my .243 was with H380 and 100gr bullets. 4831 works great in just about any rifle cartridge from the 6mms on up. You can hardly go wrong.
Back in the day we loaded 8x57s with 170gr bullets by scooping the case full of H4831. You couldn't get enough of the powder in the case to over load it. I doubt you could get enough 4831 in a .243 case to hurt anything, but in this litigious era I guess I shouldn't say that.
Reloading has changed a lot since the 60s...

I loaded quite a few of those 90 gr. Accubonds, they shot very nice, accurate and very well constructed for deer sized game.

My favorite load for the .243 is WW780 Supreme under a Sierra 100gr. bullet.

Personally I prefer the IMR4350 in the 105 grain Hornady A-Max, I just started reloading for that caliber, but so far the developing loads look really promising, all under moa so far, I do believe that is quite sufficient for whitetail deer, on up to the Mule deer out here.

I also see where the 4350 is supposed to be pretty decent using the 65 grain Hornady V-Max for coyotes, although I haven't tried that yet as far as accuracy goes. I have yet to acquire any 4831, but do have quite a bit of 4350.

Hope this is helpful for ya.

Not really. I would like to see if I can find a good load using the 4831, because I know where I can get quite a bit of it for a really good price. But if I don't find a good combination, it's not worth doing.

My Rem: Mohawk 600 loves Barnes 85 gr. TSX IMR 4064 I think off the top of my head 36.5 grains.
I also have excellent results with 100 Gr. Hornady SP same powder charge
I yet to loose a deer to the Barnes TSX

grubbylabs, I show in my Lyman 49th edition using 4831 to have an accuracy load on a 90 grain jacketed FMJBT using 48.0 grains of your powder, I would presume that a soft point should have basically the same results. Incidentally the starting load is 43.0 grains of 4831.

Thanks loose noose.
I don't mean to sound grouchy on my last post, but I am specifically looking to try loads with IMR 4831.

I have a decent load for RL-22 and a 100 grain bullet as well as a decent load with a 58 grain V-max and IMR 4064.

But if I can get a good load with this, I am going to purchase some surplus powder. And if that loads good, I am going to buy enough to make any good liberal pee down both legs.
