I picked up a CZ P-09 in 9mm earlier this week.

I put 125 rounds through it yesterday. My first 36 shots, all flyers due to me yanking the trigger. The target was at 10 yards and POA = POI.

The ammo was Herter's (mfg. by Sellier & Bellot) 115 grain FMJ.

I'm really happy with it. I have small hands but I can easily reach the trigger for the DA first shot. I'm keeping the small size backstop inset in place (it also came with medium and large backstop inserts.) The grip is slim for a gun that holds 19 + 1. I used to have a CZ-85 and this has a noticeably shorter trigger reach.

I'm planning to leave it setup as a decocker and keep the safety conversion that came with it in the box.

I don't have any action upgrades planned for it, at least until I put at least 500 rounds through the gun so that it gets broken in. I may replace the front sight with a fiber optic unit, though. At 47 seeing a pistol's front sight isn't getting any easier.

Overall I'm very happy with it.

I also have hands that are on the small side and for me the perfect fit in a 9mm. has always been either a Browning Hi-Power and now a CZ P01. I tried a P07 when they first came out but didn't really feel comfortable with the grip or the gun's overall ergonomics. Does the P09 have any differences in it's design versus that of the P07 or is just a matter of simply being somewhat longer in terms of it's grip frame and slide?

Nice grouping by the way!

AFAIK, the only difference in the grips of the P-07 and P-09 is the length. I can't say for certain, though, as I have not handled a P-07.

My P_09 is one of my best 9mm pistols I own, second only to a very customized SP-01. It shoots great and does have a nice thin grip. I don't think anyone could go wrong getting one! Nice shooting!

The last gun I bought was a P09 in FDE as a trail gun that will see mud. I was very impressed by how accurate it is for a polymer service pistol. I'd say it's almost as accurate as my CZ75B. I converted it to a safety only to have the same manual of arms as my 75 but recently swapped it back as it's more convenient and that I carried it at half cock anyway.

I love my FDE p-09...great pistol, reliable, accurate, great trigger.

I also love my 75, I'd like to find a 07 to go along with it sometime.

Then again I'd also like a RAMI or SP-01

The Gen 1 P07's didn't have interchangeable back straps, the newer ones do.

My P09 is a sweet shooting pistol and plan on getting some Cajan Gun Works goodies for it.

My next CZ pistol purchase will probably be a CZ97B. Best shooting .45 I've ever shot.

Dave, Have you measured the pull weights of the P09 DA and SA triggers? If so, what are they with the Omega trigger ? Thanks, Snoop

I put another 100 rounds down the pipe tonight, and also got to shoot a SIG 320.

I like the CZ better. :D

How is the reset? Possible to get a video? I've read it is quite long. Cajun gun works also has short reset and makes it sound like it's horrible in stock form. Not a fan of "upgrading" gun which tacks on $$$

That Cajun sells so many "upgrades" for the CZs (P09 too) worries me a bit...

Defiantly interested in the P09.

I don't find the reset objectionable. There are a bunch of vids about the P-09 on Youtube (though I can't recommend one in particular).

WRT to CGW offering so many upgrades, they're filling a market niche. Americans like to tinker with their guns, but the P-09 is perfectly serviceable as-is.

I too am real happy I got one. Ironically it was sort of a "maybe I'll get that one too" when I bought my PPQ M2, to this point I like it more. PPQ trigger is way light for my experience with triggers like that. I'll work on it though, it's also a fabulous weapon.

After seeing that video , I want one. I like CZ pistols and the P-09 is a lot of gun for the money. Snoop

well, after detracting from the P-09...I just bought one oneline.

Should be arriving by next week. I will post up a review.

Like the P-09 better than your PPQ? Well, that is going to be a tough sell. Good thing I have one to review it against too :D

Had mine out to the range today.

Yes, it's Cajunized, but before it went in it worked just fine. :) What Dave does is enhance the package to pure awesome.

You might see the reset in this video, maybe not, but the short Cajun reset is really very very nice.
