ok, I've done a detail strip of a Glock slide a few times. Some guides state that the extractor guide and spring assembly should be inserted into the slide with the spring closest to the extractor. Others say say the reverse. So, which is it? Would the guide rod be closer to the extractor or closer to the slide cover plate? Or no difference?

Thanks for your thoughts,

Another easy way to remember it (if for some reason you don't have access to a simple parts diagram like the one posted above), is steel on steel, plastic on plastic.

Any "guide" that says the spring end goes in first should be discarded directly into the trash can.
