My dad brought back this type 53 made in China; it was made in 1960. This rifle has a surprisingly smooth action. I have never fired it, don't know why but I would bet it is a nice shooter.

Given the fact that he has a "square" hat, but seems to have a rank pinned to it, says "NAVY".

(not to mention the boat...)

looks like the stock has been sawed down too... probably because the enemy combatant was short and crawling through underground bunkers and whatnot...
