So I went to the dentist last week, thinking I had a cavity because one of my teeth was very sensitive to cold liquid, brushing, etc. :what:
Turned out that tooth, and the ones on either side of it, had lost some enamel and exposed some of the soft guts of the tooth which was causing the...
...of their ways before it happens here, and b) do everything we can to support the common people over there who are sick to death of the cluster-f*ck their elected officials have brought about with the last 20 years of legislation.
Those folks are like us in many ways, only difference is...
0%, only have 3 rifles, 2 pistols, european milsurps. But I just started buying 'em 2 years ago, so give it time and it will all balance out.
Well said. I believe 150 years ago Europeans were annoyed at fellow citizens who were unpatriotic and purchased goods from America, because stuff...
This is absolutely tragic. :(
It's also a sobering lesson that kids can get to your guns if left unattended, so it's imperative that they be taught good safety and handling skills as early as possible so that they understand what guns are and that they can be dangerous if not handled...
When you suddenly find yourself in a dangerous situation your brain immeiately bypasses the normal thought processes and goes to its emergency procedures. If you have taken time to think about a situation ahead of time, and mentally prepare a plan of action, then your brain will direct your...
I understand where you're coming from, that the muskets in question were made "by them, for them", and by extension, were used to further the cause of Islam in some respect.
But it doesn't matter which nation made them, guns by themselves are just tools - it's the people who use them that...
I'll never understand why some person will go into a school and murder people they've never met. My god. I feel so terrible for the victims and their families.
I'm back in college myself and the more this sort of thing happens the more nervous I get. I own a pistol, but don't dare bring...
I would personally lean towards stocking up on ammo if I had to choose.
If ever a Katrina-esque state of emergency happened in my area I could only fire one of my rifles at a time anyway, so I'd prefer to have plenty of ammo for one of them, instead of buying 3 more new rifles but have...
Thanks for the comments, glad you guys liked it.
You don't because you can't. :p
When I wrote the first draft of this story I was using a Mosin-Nagant, which can be decocked. Then I got an SKS for Christmas and put that in the story instead, but I forgot to take that line out...
...what it would be like if one of them was my neighbour. So I came up with the following story...

So the guy blows his balls off because he wanted a handful of cash and ONE pack of smokes?
What is it about risk vs. reward that criminals don't understand...?
I bought mine to satisfy the mil-surp collector in me, ironically at the same time I ordered my CZ-82. I figured I'd throw in the extra $85 and then save on shipping instead of ordering it seperately later on.
Hi willy8457,
I bought the same type of SKS a couple days before you did. I cleaned mine with a $35 hand-held steam cleaner and Goo Gone. It melted the cosmoline like magic.
Here's a link to some pics I took to document the occasion...
My inlaws gave me $200, which I immediately converted into an excellent-condition Yugo SKS. (Regular $199, but the good folks at ClassicArms.com were having a $20-off-any-SKS sale, so I got it for $179... sweet!)
I always thought that part of the 2nd Amendment's intention was that the common people should have access to the same type of arms as the regular army.
In the 18th century, this meant that people had the same state-of-the-art Brown Bess-type muskets that the army did. And today it means we...
I fired a single 9mm Mak round without hearing protection once; I was at an outdoor range and I figured it wouldn't be so bad. My ears rang for 5 minutes.
What I wanna know is how the hell the guys in WWII (or WWI, for that matter) stood it, blasting away with .30 cal rifles and unprotected...
