    748 in 223 mag primers?

Honestly, the only time I have wished for a magnum primer was with 75 grains of US869 in a .264 Win Mag. Some hesitation with those loads. Other than that, never needed or used them, from .221 up to 30-06. I have used 748 or 760 in everything from 22-250 up to 30-06.

    .25-06 AI loads

Finally got the new rifle to my range this afternoon and fire formed some brass. My load was 57 grains of Reloader 19, Hornady cases and an 85 grain B tip. Accuracy was good, with some three shot groups touching and a 10 shot group in an inch. I was kinda surprised how dirty the R...

    748 in 223 mag primers?

I never had any trouble with 400 primers and 748 powder. I use them in magnum cases, and only once in a while. Certainly wont hurt anything though.

    Black Bear Rifle

Couldn't go wrong with either. Just use the one you are most comfortable with. Obviously the clear choice would be a Model 71 .348. Geeze, I wish I had one!

Does anyone prefer a single stage press

Mom and Dad bought me a RCBS Partner press reloading kit for Christmas when I turned 10. Been using it ever since. Might get a turret someday, but I will never be rid of the old Partner. One of my jobs when I worked for a gunsmith was to pull the lever on a Dillon progressive. It was...

    Fire forming nickel brass

Another quick question. I have a FL Redding set that my gunsmith gave me with the gun he built. Would it be worth my time to get a neck die or just set the FL die to size the neck a bit?

    Fire forming nickel brass

Thanks a lot Ants. I have used some nickle .223 brass before, it always seemed a little sticky in the die and harder to chamfer. Thats why I was worried. I have 25 loads ready to try. 57 grains of R-19 in Hornady cases with a B tip. Been too busy farming to work with my new rifle!

    Fire forming nickel brass

I dont buy very much factory ammo and dont keep up with what is available. A trip to the store yielded some Federal Premium .25-06 with the 117 Game King. They were the cheapest rounds they had so I bought a couple of boxes to sacrifice for my 25-06 Ackley project. Got them home and...

    underground storage rust prevention

Thats not a bad point. Gas lines get closer to the surface over time, underground electrical too. I would call before I dug. In a serious earthquake, ground movement and upheaval and sinkholes can occur. Might not be as safe as you think.

    I don't get GB !

Ha! Go look at used T posts at an auction sale sometime. Generally more than new. Some people like paying 5 dollars and some like paying 10 dollars.

Maybe I am a bit of a luddite, but what are youse guys talking about, powder coated bullets? Is this the stuff you spray on and bake in an oven, like the automotive coatings?

30-30, coated 165g Missouri Bullet, powder choice?

If it does not lead, and shoots well, I would stick with what ever works for you. Interesting coating, the HiTek you speak of.

Not to go too far off the rails, but am I the only one who wants a super short cut version of 3031?
