I own a Pre 64 Model 70 Winchester in .257 Roberts.
Quite a "tack driver" with reloads and I wouldn't swap it for a truckload of .244's.
Just my opinion though!

My mature Grandson's who are well schooled in firearms use are the only ones allowed to borrow my guns.
Other than that I DO NOT lend guns or power tools!
I was in Uncle Wally's yesterday and a Bavarian Edge knife sharpener caught my eye.
The price was right for around 20 bucks so I brought one home.
I am truly amazed at the effortless way to get a razor edge on a blade.
I have been a Spyderco user since forever but the Bavarian device is causing...

My .25-'06 is a Ruger # 1 Varminter and a real favorite. My hunting load for Whitetails is like yours, a 117gr. Sierra Gameking over 51 grs. of IMR 4831 with which my rifle shoots close to MIA. A few years back, I took a Whitetail buck at a measured 320 yds. ( golfer did it) and aimed at...
I am a big fan of Ruger especially because of the #1 Single Shots of which I own three.
I also own a Super Blackhawk, a Single Six, a P95, a MK 1 and an Old Army.
I'm also a great fan of Opinels especially the Carbon steel series.
I usually treat a new one with yellow mustard to get the patina effect.
First, wipe the blade with Acetone or Alcohol to remove existing oils.
Then apply mustard, let it set for 10 minutes, rinse with hot water and repeat till...
Thanks for the replies guys!
I took the 290 RS to the range yesterday and it took some practice to get used to the long double action trigger pull.
I chambered a snap cap today and became more familiar with the trigger.
Hopefully my next trip to the range will be more successful...
Hi Guys,
I recently acquired a Sig Sauer 290 RS in 9mm that I would like to use as a concealed carry weapon.
The pistol has no exposed hammer or an exterior safety latch depending on a long double action pull to cock and fire. Do you think it safe to carry with a chambered round ...
I own a Marlin 39A ,topped with an older Weaver K6, that from rest, shoots about 1& 1/2 " groups consistently!
The older Marlins are real shooters, the centerfires , especially accurate with reloads.
I would be satisfied with a Winchester M94 in .30-30 but here in Penns Woods we are not permitted to have a LOADED long gun in a vehicle.
However , being licensed to carry, I like to keep a LOADED Ruger Super Blackhawk , .44 Mag on the seat beside me.
