texas is good, too, although i'm sure florida is very attractive.
we have no income tax, and constitutional carry, which florida doesn't have yet.
which is surprising. they are usually leading the way on gun rights.
they're working on it, but seem to be hitting a few bumps in the road.
they couldn't pay me enough to ever live there.
if she can move around, maybe look at jobs in a non-communist state?
just my 2 cents, and i'm sure that's an inflated value. most people don't like my opinions.
and i know - it's your life, and it's easy to have opinions looking at it from the...
there's bears where i hike.
i usually carry a ruger single action in either 44 or 45, with 240 or 250 gr lswc.
been thinking of loading up some 180 grain 357's. not sure how that would feel in a snubbie, but it would be a lot more comfortable to carry.
thanks for the quick response.
i suspected as much.
i don't know nearly enough about guns to design one. i have a nephew that's a gunsmith. maybe i can get him interested in that.
don't know if this has ever come up before, but-
why do double action revolvers (other than snubbies up to 38/357), have longer reach from the grip to the trigger than single-action revolvers?
i have a 44 and a 45 colt (rugers) in single action revolvers, which i use for hiking carry in...
chiappa alaskan takedown lever action -
i figured there are some owners on here.
just curious about your opinions on this rifle. is the action smooth? how does it compare to others? is it worth the money? and any other info you might share.
thinking about getting one. i don't need it, and i...
don't know about what people did in the old days.
i just buy rugers and carry 6 with no worries.
but the historical info was interesting. thanks for that.
best target i ever had was onions. a truck wrecked and dumped it's entire load on the road. the LE said take all you want, we need 'em off the road.
that was the most fun i'd had in awhile (shooting them, not picking them up).
my dad's best friend got hit by an 88 a few steps onto the beach at normandy, not that far away from him.
i don't know what beach. getting anything out of him about the war was damn near impossible.
i'm sure it's not possible, but a double-action revolver with swing out cylinder that looks EXACTLY like the single actions; colt, ruger vaquero, etc.....
i have multiple spinal problems from down low to my neck.
i've been told my neck has problems on too many levels for surgery to work. I sleep in a recliner now (can't lay flat), so since it's my bed, i went to lazy boy and spent money.
it's a powered recliner, with separate power controls for...
i'm not as knowledgeable as most on here, but i've had a winchester, a marlin, and now a rossi.
the rossi is actually smoother than the other 2, and i prefer it. i really like my .44, so i just got one in .357, but haven't had a chance to shoot it yet.
both stainless. i don't intend to ever be...
uummm....maybe off topic, but-
responding to an offhand comment about black widows; my mother was in a coma 4 hours after a bite, and would have died within a few more if anti-venom hadn't been flown in from a different city. they had told my father even if the anti-venom arrived in time, it...
as with some others on here, all my guns are more accurate than me. and i'm getting worse with age.
but, i seem to shoot better with my colt python, and my taurus 1911 that i traded for over 20 years ago.
i've heard some disparage the heinie 8 (spelling?) sights on the 1911, but they work very...
so, just out of curiousity, what does the fbi carry now?
and, for those who might know, do most LE departments require you carry a specific firearm, or just a certain caliber, or do you have some leeway on personal choice?
thanks for all the replies.
i prefer to buy from the locals, but nobody has the gun, and they say they haven't seen one in about 8 months. apparently lever actions around here are in short supply unless you're looking for a 22.
don't really want to buy online, but i'm not sure when or if i'll...
