My personal nightstand gun is a S&W 620. That's an L frame, 7 shot half-lugged SS 4" .357 with Speer Gold Dot .38+P for snubbies. But that's just me. My suggestion would be that she talk to a good female instructor. She should also take her time and do mucho comparison shopping...

Loves me old 38/44 from 1935. Someday I'll send it to Grant Cunningham to get the end play out of it, and I may have the sight channel widened a little, but basically I'm leaving the old guy as is. Came with the wrong grips, so I had Elk Stags which work very well.
Just a great gun.
One of my best friends owns a range in Northern California. Recently, a mutual friend of ours started a fire shooting at steel targets. I do not know if the rounds were steel-jacketed or steel-cored surplus. Five acres were burned before the CDF was able to extinguish it using trucks and a...
Check out Cary Chapman's site and be prepared for a little eye candy. Unfortunately he only does Ruger single actions. I've got a couple of his grips; they're even better looking on my guns than in the photos:

I've introduced a few women to shooting with a Single Six. It's looks are unintimidating, it's fun to shoot, and the single action encourages them to take their time with every shot. After shooting .22LR for a while we step up to the .22WMR.
So far, a good time has been had by all!

The saddlebags on my Suzuki V-Strom are actually Pelican 1550 cases. Absolutely waterproof, and when my bike was knocked over in a parking lot, I discovered that they're strong enough to support most of its weight. Great product. The rig I have is made by Caribou.
Anyone else been following the Day by Day cartoon the past three days?

I've had nothing but unhappiness with Xpert. For me, the stuff was absolutely filthy. I still have half a brick; I don't know anyone that I dislike enough to give it to.

I may have to check out the firearms insurance. For me, USAA ranks right up there with companies like Dillon in terms of customer support and satisfaction.
