If a 165 gr cast 40sw will go end to end through them you don't need expansion. Unless you want the meat, who cares if you don't find them. I use cast in my BO pistol ( or 150 hornady), got at least a couple hits and never found it.
Then you get to learn how to find the blood trail. Animals stay near but not always IN the woods. Unless you are stalking, the trick is to find the location to hunt from. Find possible/probably 'routes', then look for sign. Larger game like paths, to-from food, water & bedding area. Do NOT...
Not a BR shooter, just an AR10 but the RCBS works fine for me. I do use the Lyman M die expander. HIgh $ stuff is for long range/comp. shooters with the 'better' rifles..
Early observers got anything mom & pop could send them. No, the BAR humper was the ammo carrier. Watched a Marine instructor fire a mag from the hip and hit everytime.
Yes, went fishing the creek behind the local range, somebody's Tommygun got away from them and peppered the trees above my head. Yes, the range had a berm.
231 & hp38 are the same. Cfe takes about 1/2 gr. More for same fps and is mode to deco paper barrels. I find it's just a bit snappier in recoil than 231.
Or WT 7.62x40. Faster than BO with < 140gr. bullets. Same everything but barrel & mags - Pmags can be altered. My BO shoots lower end of 30/30 range for 150gr PB.
Called flyers don't count if just a mental error. Like shotgun patterning, cone of fire takes more shots, repeated. OnTarget actually does this for you, probability of accuracy. That is what we really want. Try with mixed vs selected HS.
