Why not just make this a 9mm and use Suomi mags? Or make it 7.62x25? I don't get the appeal of making it a wildcat 223 thing that only you and your handloading buddy's are going to like, 7.62x25 is available at about the same price as 45 and 9mm is cheap usually.
Plus 9mm doesn't have a neck...
@taliv
Mostly when people misuse them and hit parts of the crown or the chamber with them. Not to mention the fact that I've seen more then one person put a copper brush on one and scrub back and forth with it in the barrel, not a good idea IMO all the bore snake does is give you a plastic...
@taliv
Why would that be? I've seen more barrels screwed up by traditional cleaning rods then I have the pull through variety. Unless your talking about some other reason.
Well, I decided to go with the 1.5, while the cleaning thing maybe nice I use boresnakes mostly anyway, and the deciding factor was dubbleA's comment about the width once folded, which I hadn't considered. Basically for me the cleaning aspect isn't worth $210 but if I had to use a rod I could...
Recently I've been looking into long range shooting and I wanted to get a chassis, I know I don't need it, but it's cool. Anyway I was looking at the eberlestock first but have recently decided to look at cheaper options and the aics is half the money and has all the features I wanted. So I have...
@ussr
I always thought brass was brass and what you did to it what mattered, idk though, I'll try my loads first, if they do what I want then i'll keep using them. If not i'll try the lapua brass.
Oh and the general rule with 50 caliber MGs is you can run and die tired or you can hide and die a coward, unless you have earthen barrier 10 feet plus thick yours probably wasting your time.
Umm, I assume your talking 50 bmg and no concrete will not take 50s, if it was a foot thick and steel reinforced you'd be safe for awhile, but a m2 would chew holes in that in a single belt.
Most concrete walls can't take 3006 or if we're talking cinder block walls ARs and AKs make short work...
+1 on what RCA said, every tracer I've ever shot didn't light for aways, maybe 200-300 yards just guessing, and I've shot tracers that were loaded pre WWII and they worked, but they were us military stuff not from the fatherland.
Edit 200-300 maybe to far, but they went a pretty long way. Sorry...
@david4516
I don't like any of the non 30 caliber cartridges it's my own weirdness, when the zombies rise up I think they'll want to meet 30 caliber bullets, if you buy that I'll sell you another lol. I have a handloading setup and half of the thing with the 3006 is I will never have to buy...

Ok, I've been looking at getting a remington 700, and I'm want to get a high end stock for it, and be able to swap different rifles into the same stock, anyway my question is, does the 223 action fit the same stocks as the 308 action? And the stock I'm wanting takes accuracy international mags...
@ussr
Will do, I was leaning towards the 300 win mag when I asked the question, thanks for the info on the potential of the 3006, I didn't realize how close they could be, cost and barrel wear make this a no brainier now. Thanks
