I have an adjustable AR style stock for an AK and previously had a full set of "tactical" furniture for a VZ2008. Quality is good in my opinion, equal or better than the price, and installation is easy and straightforward. I installed the stock on a WASR and did not need to do any fitting...
I had a first printing but it was destroyed by a friend's dog when I loaned it to him. My current copy is a 3rd or 4th printing probably. Local library has a couple copies in the system too.
Does anyone recall the character name that got changed after the first printing, something to do...
I bought one of these in .22 magnum not long ago. They are even better looking in person and the 5 round magazine is flush. I haven't shot it yet but it should be a hoot. I was on the fence about a 512 in .22 WMR until I saw the carbine. I wanted a shorter barreled semi-auto.
I had a 455 Tacticool for a bit and it was a solid, accurate rifle. Shot around 3/4" at 50 yards with CCI Standard Vel & Wolf Match Target. However, I also have a factory 16" threaded 452 American and a 452 Varmint , both of which outshot the Tacticool.
Here it is wearing a Gemtech II
I like the E German raindrop pouches in the OP but $16/each is ridiculous. Yes, you can get four strippers per cell but it an be tight. I typically load in a total of nine which makes it a little less bulky. I have an SKS paratrooper that is often the rifle I chuck into the car if I want to...
I have a milled underfolder made by DDI. Very good fit and finish. Military Arms Channel did a brief review of this model a while back and they compared it favorably with the Bulgarian Sam7 underfolder.
I cut down a Marlin 336to 16.5" a while back and just got to the range with it a oth ago. With Leverevolution ammo it holds under 2" at 100 yards using a Burris Fastfire III. With Skinner peep sights it is at an inch or so at 50 yards.
PMC stopped production many years ago. Right after they did, Sportsman's Guide had cases of PMC Zapper for around $120 after shipping. I bought four. Still have one. It helped get me through the drought.
I also discovered far too late PMC Moderator which was an excellent sub-sonic load.
Alloy 17-8 was only made for 2-3 years. the internet will tell you that timing issues could develop but I have never heard this first hand. I have a black 6" 17-8 that is an excellent shooter. I also just picked up a very good condition 4" 617 all stainless 10 shot for $650. It has the lock...
Many, many years ago I was in Athens GA for a conference and met George Gay of the Battle of Midway fame. At a coffee service table, not a bar, but cool none the less.
Either the Sig Sauer or Beretta Gen I versions can be converted to S&W 5900 series simply by changing the mag catch - a +/-$7.00 part from Keltec. The Sig catch works decently with CZ mags as well
I like the midway brand pistol cases which have two pockets on the back, ample room inside for two pistols and mag sleeves on the front for seven magazines. All for $14.99, much less when they put them on sale...
I like underfolder and side folder AK's and have several of each as well as fixed stocked versions. The SLR-107fr with the poly side folder is a good compromise. However, as Inebriated pointed out, there are many options for folding stocks for AK riflesd with fixed stock rear trunions. Ace...
I hope things went well at your range trip. Remember guns are often louder to someone standing to the side, not the one shooting.
Since you're a Hoosier, give ingunowners.com a look. Might be some good local help there.
I have a Taurus Thunderbolt in .357 with a 26" barrel. If you want to have some fun, shoot some light .38 loads. Out of that long barrel they are scarry quiet.
