Lubricating Black Powder 45 Colt Reloads

Add a 2oz bottle of Stihl Synthetic HP to the SPG and (assuming the leading isn’t caused by undersized throats or something else) leading problems will be a thing of the past. Turns the lube a lovely shade of green but no more burned hair smell anymore!

Conical's from .360 lead balls, down to .329 for my Uberti 1849 Pocket

I did similar to a .490 ball for the .44 colts. The balls you’re starting with are pure lead are they not? Edit: I looked at the page and they are hardened lead alloy. I’m sure they’ll shoot ok, they may be hard to load.

More reliable Remington or colt cast your vote n tell why

I’ve thought about adding a Colt style bushing after removing the barrel and milling .15” or so from the frame window beneath the barrel. More machine work but it would allow a full length cylinder.

    I found caps!

That is true. Mako did the measurements years ago and from time to time I’ve checked and found his data is still pretty accurate. Additionally I have an older straightline capper that will accept Remington 11’s but not 10’s nor the RWS 1055’s.

More reliable Remington or colt cast your vote n tell why

Yes, I keep thinking I need to chuck it in the vise and open up that part of the cylinder… then I pick up a Colt and shoot it with no fuss or muss and forget all about the Remington.
