    Horrible POI with Marlin 1895

I'd look at the suppressor end cap and see ifthere is any damage or marking showing light bullet grazing. It could easily be shooting that far off at 25 yards if the bullet is striking the endplate as it goes by. Also, is the suppressor tight on the barrel? Just a few thoughts.

Hightower iron sight option for Fightlite (and other non-PG stocks with full Picrails)

I love the fightlite idea, and was not able to find one when the funds were available. Those sights look perfect for the low eye line on those guns. Looks like a sweet setup you have there.

Lever gun caliber decision……45 Colt vs 44 Magnum/44 Spec

I'd have to see which leverguns you're looking at to give a informed opinion; there are certain guns I'd only have in 44 or 45 colt. I am a 44 mag fan, and don't presently own any 45 colt firearms, but I think either is fine subjectivity for any use a levergun could be pressed into. I'd pick 44...

    9mm '73 from Taylor

I think most of the latest state magazine ban stuff is including fixed magazines as well, though it's been for semi autos. I do wish they would have shortened the mag tube like the old half tube if it only holds ten. But just a personal preference. The price is high, but it sure is pretty. As I...

    A '73 Lever Action in.....9mm? Interesting!

Great idea, but keep the wood. There is too much plastic in this modern world...

I don't need one, but dang if it aint cool LOL

It's got a threaded barrel, so it's possible. Just getting a little big for hunting with a suppressor. Still very cool. I want one...

    Savage Model 10 question

Yeah it's a 400 or more dollar rifle here too in western Washington. I'd probably give $400 for one as a project gun...

Looked at the New Ruger American II YUCK!

I also dislike the mag induced balance point issues, but other than that I think ruger really listened to the customer base about the issues with the first generation. Lots of folks, me included, really wanted a bolt locking safety and a stiffer stock. Check and check. We also wanted a taller...

    A '73 Lever Action in.....9mm? Interesting!

Why you ask? Well, a beautiful lever action in the cheapest centerfire cartridge known to man? Why do people buy 22 leverguns? I would have built it on the 92 action, but it's beautiful and functional, and has all the features that young gun guys want added to classic designs without looking...

    Do I really NEED one?

So it may go against the grain to say so, but no, you don't need a 44 special. Just buy another 45 colt and forget about it. And then go get yet another 45 colt as a self present for saving the 44 special for us that DO need one. But after a few weeks you'll probably have to have one anyway...

    Light Triggers for Light Rifles

I don’t like any trigger over 4lb no matter what type of weapon, but for most guns you can go too light in my opinion. On a huntrifle I want about 2 to 2.5 lbs if I can have it reasonably affordable, but I really like the 9oz break on my cz set trigger. I had a savage 22 with a 4 Oz break that...

    Odd Annealing Question

I would not worry about your first loading of once fired brass, just anneal it after that loading. If it's factory ammo once fired it was annealed before loading, so no worries. If it was swept up off the range and advertised as once fired, well, you'll never know if it's truly once fired. Not...

    My New Bear Gun.

I swapped on the folding grip too, it worked great. But the black widow grip is the cats meow...

    My New Bear Gun.

Ironically my first concealed carry piece was the black widow model, with the larger grip. Still a tiny firearm. Very cool though..

    My New Bear Gun.

It's a work of art that shoots. And it's cute! They are mechanical marvels. A little small for much use though. Try the black widow grip if you want to actually shoot it, it's quick to change it for a range day...

So, You Want To Start Casting…?

Thanks for such a concise and organized explanation, this should be a sticky! Great write up!

So, You Want To Start Casting…?

38 special pretty much sums up the best beginner method above. Any specialized questions should probably be one at a time. I do recommend getting some known quantity lead from somewhere, either your mentor or rotometals, the Lee pot he recommends, and one mould to start with, then play with it...

    Are 44 Revolvers Dying?

My exact thought when I saw that firearm. "A man's got to know his limitations..." Some handguns aren't handguns anymore.

    It Never Fails...

I love the break top h&r revolvers, that is literally only the 2nd 4" one I've seen. I almost bought the other one, but it was about 100 more than I wanted to spend. While I was thinking some older gentleman at the gun show snapped it up. HE knew what he was looking at, I did not or I wouldn't...

    Are 44 Revolvers Dying?

Make that an 8 shot 44 mag and I'd bite. But as a joke I'd put a small set of wagon wheels under the barrel and call it a mobile artillery piece. The 44 mag or special is far from dead, and that makes me happy since it's my favorite. My first revolver was a 44 mag and I won't be without one...
