I sort my alloys by the ingot mold I use. RCBS for pure lead, saeco for wheel weights, etc. No wondering what the alloy is in the ingot. I have several of each. Once you start looking, ingot molds just seem to appear. I think I'm up to six saeco molds now...
Wow.
I can't believe this thread is still going. I never have problems with the tail clogging the nipples on my 58 remington. I would think that if you are having problems with this you are probably not clipping them short enough. I have found that a nail clipper is actually more of a...
Bought some mags from Forrest Co. out of SGN. 19200 ASSY 5508694 MFR. 8R611. Total crap. Wouldn't lock the slide open, wouldn't feed right , hangups in the magazine, wouldn't drop out of the mag well. Total junk. That was the second batch they sent me. The first batch they sent me (same...
Get the tool
It's $3 from M&A. Or, put blue loctite on the threads, tighten it by hand, and then stick a pin punch in the hole for the wrench and rotate it a little bit by tapping with a hammer.
No need to trim if thay are all the same headstamp.
Mixing headstamps is not a good idea with pistol calibers (any calibers really). You can feel the difference when you shoot it. You will see the difference with your groups too. With such a small case, small variations make a huge difference.
Trim it a little and run it throughthe die again.
I make 8mm out of 30-06, and the brass is so long that it will bottom out in the die before the shoulder has been pushed back far enough. I have to anneal it, size it, trim it, size it again, and trim it again. It's still kind of tough...
I haven't tried the hirtenberger stuff yet...
The bolt carrier dragging occured to me too, but there aren't any wear marks on the carrier. I hadn't thought of removing the rollers. I might try that on my next trip to the range.
Definitely not the magazine.
Does the same thing with the mag removed. Maybe the roller recesses aren't at the correct angle, and the unlocking delay is too long. It's driving me nuts. Everything else seems to work fine.
Anyone know anything about these things? It's an MP-5 clone. A buddy of mine bought one, and it's a pain in the neck. It extracts fine, but the bolt carrier doesn't travel far enough rearward to cam up the ejector and eject the spent case. The empty case just goes right back into the...
Toggle links broke..
Went through three sets of them (free replacement from LEE every time, no hassle) before I finally got it through my thick skull that I needed to put some loctite on the bolts that go through the toggle links. Problems solved. It doesn't matter how tight you torque the...
