My P12-45 was my eighteenth birthday present from my dad, and about two years later I acquired a P14-45. I love them both and have never had problems with either. A lot of folks claim that the double-stacked 1911 is less reliable than the single, but the only time either of them has failed at...
Heck no.
1) They're blocky.
2) You pay as much for the name on the slide as you do for the actual quality of the gun.
3) What exactly is so "revolution"ary about a gun that was designed 101 years ago?
Of course, it all boils down to personal preference.
Beautiful. For some reason, external extractors have always bothered me. I guess to me they're just one more thing that I can probably find a way to break, lol.
Thanks!
No pictures as of yet, but mine are
1) Para Ordnance P14-45
2) Para Ordnance P12-45
3) Springfield Milspec
I hope us double-stacked fans are welcome on this thread. ;)
I'm a single female and I always carry in the house. In addition, there is a loaded gun in every room just in case (where only I would know to find them). Working in a gun store, you hear far too many stories about people getting caught at home unarmed to take chances.
As an aside, two of...
For those of you who don't know, last week a man on a Greyhound bus in Canada went crazy and cut off his seatmate's head with a knife. Pathetically, none of the numerous other passengers or the driver tried to stop this man - they all exited the bus while the victim was still alive and...
I live on campus at a state university, and to my knowledge it is a felony for anyone other than a certified officer of the peace to be in possession of a firearm on campus. I could be wrong.
The Weatherby Mark V that I have on layaway right now. It came into the store slightly used. Tag price was $1k even, but I'm paying $800 for it, which considering it comes with a couple hundred dollars' worth of Leupold scope on it isn't bad. :D
Uvakat, I'm learning to do just that. It's hard sometimes, but really... in retrospect, some of the situations I've experienced were pretty funny.
Happy New Year to you too, Aguila! : )
PS: those of you who think "clip" vs. "magazine" is petty are right. the OCD gets the best of me...
Um. Where did Jennings come from? I don't have a problem with Jennings at all. Jimenez Arms is a gun manufacturer based, I believe, in Miami.
Wow, Werewolf. Thank you for providing a perfect example of the people I'm talking about. It's funny that you think I shouldn't be pissed because...
Yes, .45 GAP is a few dollars more expensive than ACP. According to my coworker who sold him the box of GAP in the first place, though, the customer actually asked for it. *shrug*
And he can't sue us if he's signed a waiver saying he won't. I hope.
Dr. Dickie - thanks for the input. I hadn't thought of that, but will now consciously make an effort not to overreact or make stupid assumptions of my own. : )
As for customers offering opinions to other customers without being asked, I think the general consensus among gun store employees is...
While I worked at the range today, a kid came out and, seeing me hand another customer a box of .45 ACP target rounds, said that he needed another box of them as well. However, when I went to add the ammo to his tab, I noticed that the last box of .45 he'd bought was GAP. I asked if he wasn't...
Mkay. I work in a privately owned gun store. Despite this, my fellow employees and I are polite, helpful, and for the most part knowledgeable. Which is kind of nice. However, a sadly large percent of our clientèle do not do unto us as we do unto them; many of our customers are rude, overbearing...
Just fyi, there are (at least) two - his and the one I work at. The last place I worked was the stereotypical, anti-customer gun store, but the current job is surprisingly all about customer service. Kinda cool.
Having said that...
I searched Wolff's website and was unable to come up with anything Wilson Combat-specific. I've never heard of anyone having problems with Wolff springs in WC mags, but I have no personal experience with the matter at all.
I recommended Wolff because the replacement mag...
