Thanks. I have a Bond Roughneck Darringer that I have a 45 LC barrel for. I have a 410 buck on top, 45 LC hollow point in the bottom. Only two shots but for those loads, pretty potent. Ran TiteGroup through it a few times, as you say, heat issues were not a concern. I don't think I'll shoot...
OOPS, my typo. That was supposed to say, TiteGroup is not COVETED, not COVERED. Yes, TiteGroup definitely in 45 Colt. Have loaded it before. Fixing my original post to avoid further confusion. Sorry guys. Chromebook auto-corrected that word. Coveted is not exactly a well-used word, so I...
I have about half a pound of Unique left. I also have TiteGroup when I am out of that. I know TiteGroup is not coveted as much as Unique for 45 Colt powder, but I do think it burns cleaner than Unique, and it works well enough for me until I can find more Unique.
The Colt Lever? Definitely...
That's what I thought you'd say, @.45Coltguy Thanks. Sometimes articles make a big deal out of very small issues.
Those 250 g's were what were offered at Midway for 45 ACP. I know you CAN load 250g bullets in 45 ACP. You just have to watch the depth of seating and the potential reduced...
Good morning gents. A question for you this morning or afternoon depending on when you are reading this;
I have recently begun reloading 45 Colt. Years past, I loaded a lot of 45 ACP, but never both at the same time. So I, being inquisitive, did some research on the reloading differences...
Thanks, Gus. I thought I had read that older models had a button, but I have learned not to trust what I read 100 percent.
My father used to say, "Don't believe anything you hear, and only half of what you read." Words to the wise I have found in my adult life. But reading is only part of...
That's really helpful, @Radom Guy , Thanks much.
My Lee hand press is relatively new, so it does not have "The Button". So I never had the convenience. It was my understanding that older Lee Hand presses had the button? Maybe I have that wrong. I have only reloaded 45 Colt in the hand...
Thanks @Radom Guy. Interesting;
The Breech Lock Lee dies are still new to me, and so far no issues, but I'd be curious to know where they do not work for you so I can be prepared for that in the event it happens to me.
I used to love shooting my 1911 Colt. As usual, I regret selling it. But...
Great questions. Glad to answer.
Those dies are 45 ACP. I shut my reloading bench down for more than a decade, then got back into reloading again, and moved the bench from the basement to the garage. In that time frame and/or the move, somehow, I lost my 45 ACP dies. I really do not load 45...
I'm way ahead of you, my friend. I am a fan of Arnold Palmers. Lemonade and Iced Tea mixed.
If one were imbibing, then a shot of Vodka in the Arnold Palmer would not hurt. ;)
"Stuff" is starting to stack-up gentlemen. I got an order from Midway today. Ordered this week when they had the sale going on with free shipping. I need to start sorting, organizing more, and getting on my reloading schedule again to chip away at the new components. But not today. It's...
I got an order from Midway from last week when they had their sale going on. With free shipping, it was too hard to resist.
I had to replace a set of reloading dies (45 ACP) that I either loaned out or lost over the years. And some brass/bullets/Decapping Die/Lock Ring set
Also got a...
A brutal week right through today at 11 AM, but it's finally over. Chillin' time.
I just got my Midway order today. I took advantage of their sale last week including free shipping.
New 45 ACP dies to replace the ones that have gone missing. Where they got off to I will never know.
A...
Great point. And good tips. I am going to start doing this next weekend. I plan on being at my gun club to work up some loads then, and the colored markers will really make the other members wonder "What the heck is he doing NOW?"
The last time I was out on the trail without a proper trail gun was circa 2005 ish. I was on a fly fishing trip in New Mexico and was at a remote fishing camp on the San Juan River. I was, at the time, really into working out every day, and I had to go on a 5k run every morning five days a...
Me too, but I totally missed it until I saw your post Capatin. I've been busy with other things and just glanced at the OP of that. That color coding is brilliant as @shoebox1.1 posted. I am surprised I never thought of it. I have the markers, but never thought of coloring the primers...
