The trouble is you never know when a criminal "runs in, points a gun" is he just going to steal or is he going to kill. If you are pointing a gun at me I am going to assume you mean me Great bodily harm or Death.
"So why is it that when a young man such as myself walks into a shop are we automatically assumed to be ignorant, video game playin, atheist mall ninjas and armchair commandos?" That would be because most of your contemporaries are!!! Sorry but people tend to do that to people they don't know...
If you are not planning to carry, as in handgun, a shotgun would do nicely. Even a short barrled coach gun would work as you want something you can deploy quickly.
"I am wary of anyone else I meet when I am in the woods alone. I assume they feel the same way about me. If they have a visible gun, I am even more wary. Ditto if they see one on me. It's just common sense."
So what you are saying is that people that carry guns are strange, different...
I can answer the first two in my case. A. I wouldn’t be shocked at all by someone open carrying a gun. Makes good sense to me. B. I wouldn’t treat the hiker any different. Wave, say hi, maybe ask what they chose to carry and why. A long gun might be a little different if not hunting season...
Most Anti’s opinions against guns are formed by emotion not facts or experience. “Guns = Bad” end of discussion. That is why it is so hard to talk with them about the subject on a reasonable level.
If it is “more important” that your wife be able to use the gun why not let her choose, or at least in on the process? You can suck it up for her safety or buy a second gun for you.
A Terry Search is for the immediate safety of the officer. In-other-words he can search your person if he thinks you may have a weapon on you. I would argue that a locked car poses no danger to the officer. I have never heard of anyone carry a handcuff key and a cop being shot by someone was...
Interesting what everyone is saying. Just a couple of observations and facts. MY student didn’t know if the call was made anonymously or not. The police didn’t say. Second if the call was anonymous I would think that the police would follow and observe first instead of surrounding with...
Seems he was on his way home from the National Guard when he got into a bit of an altercation with another driver. Flipped each other the bird and called each other names then went on his way only to be followed by the other driver for awhile. (Yes I told him he should not have exchanged words...
I’m not quite sure what your point is but I do agree more gun laws are not going to make criminals stop doing illegal things. There will always be a way to circumvent the system. Only the law abiding will obey the law and new laws just encumber them not the criminals who simply disregard them...
A lot of people find themselves in situations they never dreamed would ever or could ever happen to them. Bad things can happen in the safety of your own home, in the nicest part of town, in church, on the most pleasant day of the year in a city park in a safe neighborhood. Just yesterday I...
My understanding is yes you can carry in Philly. They don't like it but they can't over-ride PA law. So I would draw my legally carried and concealed handgun and stop this creep.
