Rossi Survival Rifle in .45 colt....... and of course .410

It wasn’t a 45 bore. I believe it was a 41 magnum barrel with the chamber reamed out to fit a .410 shot shell hull. It was very accurate.

Rossi Survival Rifle in .45 colt....... and of course .410

I can't imagine throwing a .41 bullet down a .45 bore does much for accuracy. Over the years I've seen comments about using .45 BPM out of .410/.45 revolvers as the chamber is long enough to accommodate it, but all .45 BPM is is .460 S&W Magnum brass loaded with black powder. I'd rather have a...

    Revolver Pics

Shown are .45 Colt with up to 40 grains (if you talk sweet to 'em) of blackpowder, .45 BPM with up to 60 grains of blackpowder.

Cutting the frame for a loading gate, and legality.

I just tuned Clembert's 45 BPM (first video I ever saw of the BPM back around 2013) He says his was first. The ROA gated conversion is almost done, it's a good one . . . Mike

...about it" phase on getting a Rossi Circuit Judge, which has an 18" long barrel and 3 inch .410 chambers, my interest is renewed with the .45 BPM. I know that most here have only used the .45 BPM for converted Walkers, but what velocities could I expect from an 18 inch barrel? Paging @Hoof...

    .45 Black Powder Magnum

I have heard of some fellow calling himself "Hoof Hearted" who apparently does some kind of work on old revolvers. I don't know anything about him though, other than that he's kind of funny-looking. http://www.cartridgeconversion.com

    .45 Black Powder Magnum

Hi Fellas, I'm looking to get a Uberti Walker to convert into .45 bpm/ Brimstone, but there's almost no information on how to go about this. Can anyone point me towards resources to get this done?

.45 Colt in the Judge is not bad at all

First off you'd need to have chambers reamed as there is a step in the regular 45/410 cylinder that prevents 454/460 ammo from clambering. Second the BPM even from a Walker's 9" barrel is about the same velocity as saami spec 45 Colt from a 4" let alone hotter Colt offerings that are SAA safe.

    .45 Black Powder Magnum

OK I just googled it and Wikipedia (a great site) describes the 45 BPM as a relatively modern concoction using 460 magnum brass (the brass only) for converted Walker replicas to be able to use full loads with cartridges. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.45_Black_Powder_Magnum. There is even a...

...never actually seen an antique Walker that was converted to fire metallic cartridges, but they could be out there. I think things like the .45 BPM, .45-60-225 and my own .44-55 Walker are mostly just fun 'what-ifs.' If power were the only goal we'd all be better off just buying a .44...

    .45 Black Powder Magnum

...I think that was nice guess I almost got all of it right except for the fact that the .45 BPM is a modern concoction using .460 magnum brass to enable the use of full BLACK POWDER CHARGES (ONLY) in relatively modern cartridge converted Walker replicas. Wikipedia is great. It has a load chart...

    .45 Black Powder Magnum

The 460 will fit in a Walker conversion cylinder. I converted a 2nd model dragoon using a walker conversion cylinder. I use 460 S&W cases loaded with 45 to 60 of BP substitute and a variety of bullets. My favorite load is 35-45gr of pyrodex under two 140gr round balls. Get anywhere from 780fps...

Is 45LC in Black Powder Still available?

I shoot frontier duelist in SASS, so that means loading BP 45 LC and BP shotgun for each match. There is nothing easier to load for than black powder pistol and shotgun (I use Magtech 20 ga brass shells. I also shoot a separate BPCR rifle match with a 45-70 Rolling Block which takes a bit more...

Hello, first thread and issue with Uberti Walker

Uberti in general isn't the same Uberti as it use to be from what I hear, but having a pin just shear off doesn't sound like any of the Italian reproduction companies. Then again, those pins are likely aluminum since their only purpose is for alignment, so IDK. Whatever material they are, you'd...

    .45 Black Powder Magnum

This summer I intend to do some crony RO work with the 45C in the three revolvers I have with conversion cylinders. A ROA, R&S, and the 1860 Colt. From time to time I load a 45C cartridge, brim full of 3F and seat a 250 grain bullet over it. That round is stout in the conversion cylinders. I...

    .45 Black Powder Magnum

...own +++P loads. There's a million more chances of those two scenarios than the one that you've envisioned. I believe the whole point of .45 BPM is to allow shooting up to 60 grains BP cartridges in a Walker. Shooting .45 Colt (38 - 40 grains FFFg max) in a Walker seems a bit silly given...

    .45 Black Powder Magnum

Read through all the replies and I think I'm not going to go out of my way to get a 6 inch Judge simply to shoot .45 BPM from it. Even if one dropped into my lap for free, I'd have to think about if the time loading a black powder cartridge and cleaning is worth it for a modern revolver. It's...

    .45 Black Powder Magnum

...use Triple 7 or Pyrodex? I'm not one who likes to use fillers, so I would fill the case with either powder and I believe the capacity in the .45 BPM case (yeah, I know it's really a .460) is something well over 50 grains. Is that safe to shoot in a Judge or Governor? I would say yes, as those...
