Match grade barrel, minimal reset trigger, much higher capacity, etc. IMHO, yes it is worth the extra paper.

Either one will get the job done. Personally, I like my magazine tube to be flush with the barrel if possible. But that's just me.

IMHO, maybe not so humble opinion... there's not much difference in stopping power if you are using decent defensive ammunition and good shot...
