    Vibrating case cleaner media.

It’s the abrasive element in toothpaste, for example. The lizard litter will do the clean and polish on its own; the diatomaceous earth just speeds up the process.

    Vibrating case cleaner media.

Add a few scoops of diatomaceous earth (available in hardware stores and at Amazon) to lizard litter for A+ results.

    Swedish Mauser Loading Question

I have a few and have really come to prefer 140s and slower powders: 4350 and 4831. Even my bubba’d artillery short barrel seems to prefer these powders. Unfortunately, I have no experience with H4895 in 6.5x55. I did work up a load in IMR4064many years ago but that was for a 129 grs bullet as I...

Mare's Leg: Worth it or a waste?

Lever guns are not famed for their accuracy. But that’s not why we love them. It’s not for me, but who of us is to say it’s not for you.

    45/70 barrel length

Fan of both 45-70 and 444 Marlin. Have rifles in both. Not a fan of the 45-70 in a light, short barreled (20” or less) lever gun. Thumpy with diminished performance. But, too each his own.

    Biden closes ‘gun show loophole’

This method of ultra vires coercion was perfected during the Obama regime. The scheme is that govt agencies continually impose regulations and punishments that they know will not, at least in totality, withstand legal challenge, but between the legal/regulatory risk they pose in the interim and...

    Colt Walker powder charge

30 grs of FFFG is a standard load for most 44 cal non Walker, non Dragoon cylinders. But in the Walker it will have you seating the ball fairly deep, which could have a negative impact on accuracy and will have a negative impact on velocity. While 60 grs is theoretically possible in a Walker, I...

4473 question regarding License with no longer current address

Up to the license holder whether that, in combo with other govt issued id (to include hunting license) with valid address may be used. In current atmosphere, I wouldn’t expect so in many jurisdictions.

    Convert Marlin 336

35-30/30, 38-55 send to JES Rebore. For 7mm Waters, 6.5-30/30 or 243-30/30, it would mean a new barrel and I’m can’t see who is doing those.

    Bottleneck question?

Neck sizing only is something to consider with say a Lee-Enfield with its “generous” chambers or some lever guns, for example. Unless there are good reasons to neck size only (and there aren’t very many) annealing and FL sizing is probably best.

Opinions on a WESTERN style 45 Long Colt Six-Shooter Please

That’s a good looking revolver and is definitely Western. Pietta quality is good. Many many many other options are available. And all of them, plus many others, will be offered up here 🤣

Boiled linseed finish dull, best way to purty it up?

If you just want a little bit of gloss, Birchwood Casey stock sheen and conditioner will do it. So will some Pledge for that matter.

    Rogers and Spencer's revolvers

Love, love, love my R&S revolvers. Can’t say that I find them ugly. Fully agree on how it feels in the hand and their accuracy, also with the conversion cylinder. My advice is to be very careful with the rotating retaining nut for the arbor. Replacements are not available and they are a bit...

    9.3x62 vs .375 h&h

I like 375 Ruger. But it is definitely at, or perhaps beyond, my recoil limit. A classic rifle like the Model 70 in 375 H&H is very attractive; a mid-century icon. The current Model 70 Alaskan in 375 H&H is also a very classic rifle. Enjoy whichever you choose.

A question better asked here than of the EPA. The answer is “discretely”.

Cougar kills young man in California

It’s the Hungry Time. Spring ain’t sprung and animals are hungry. Big cats are more of a concern than black bear in my opinion. If you can’t carry a firearm, a big knife is better than a sharp stick. If you can carry a firearm, big holes exsanguinate faster than smaller holes.
