I do not believe it's a new trend, discussions of training have come up in many a OIS and civilian shootings for the last 35 years that I'm aware of.

I know that Rittenhouse took some training from a prominent nationally know instructor, whom is a friend of...
I have got a few inquiries as to the cost of the class, as what I posted is different than what was presented to them when registering.
Bill mistakenly sent my the info from this years price. So to those who have inquired, yes it is 500 for the class.
Sorry for the confusion.
A couple thoughts....
The mind won't allow the body to experience impact as a surprise. It will clinch up...thus where the "flinch" comes from. Bracing for impact...or in the shooting world...loud noise and recoil. Can it be trained out of people? Some mostly, while others it can be tamed. But...

Aaron is another to research on the subject. Also Petty's Low Light class...a lot of reality packed in this class.
I encourage all to check the above trainers for both subjects, many changes to the way we do things, even from just a few years ago is getting outdated.
A good training facility with qualified trainers can help students become efficient with their chosen firearm, where a book can not. By watching the student and not the target, the trainer can help the student to become the best they can with their chosen firearm and related equipment. Just as...
Some of the best up to date vehicle CQB training is with William Petty of Centrifuge Training.
Not only covers fighting around vehicles, but ballistics as well.
Check out some of his videos.
