100 rounds (50x2boxes) of Hornady .223 ammo arrived on my doorstep yesterday from Midway. Happend to use it to sight in a Ruger M77 in .223 and gun shot really well with it.
Decided I’d pick up a box here and there just for that particular gun. Problem is it’s a high demand product at Midway...
I hunted squirrels early in the season with a Ruger MK 2 .22 with a 6.5 inch barrel and adjustable target sights. It was ideal for those EARLY season distances.
With a 9mm in a carbine you should do at least as well as I did with the Ruger. You will however have to focus more on head shots to...
I used to keep my safe out in the unheated garage in Texas. Always wiped guns down with rem oil spray and put socks on them. That part of Texas had high humidity pretty much year round and during the winter temps could swing into the low 30’s. Opening the gun safe occasionally the socks helped...
Not sure I’m in the market for something new being offered for 2024 but if an Upland 1100 20 gauge in decent shape came along I’d be hard pressed not to jump on it.
For a long time and maybe still, the #1 seller in Cabelas was their ball cap with the company logo. They became trendy and the store merchandise reflected that fact. It became a destination store for the whole family.
I’ve been in exactly 2 Scheels. One in Minot NoDak back in the late 80’s of...
Nicely done upgrade to your reloading digs all around. Glad you mentioned the stereo. I have a thing for vintage micro audio equipment and was going to ask about it.
Really like that organizer mat you have on the bench. Where did you get that from? I need one or two of those. Do you know if...
I have no practical experience with the Mini30 but I struggle with finding anything more utilitarian in appearance to me in a long gun than a Savage Model 10. If Glock made a rifle it would undoubtedly look and function a lot like it. Practical. Reliable. Cost efficient for the level of...
Need some more clarification on your comment about CVA’s being looked down on. Is that in regards to quality or are you referencing historical accuracy as far as their older Hawken percussion/flintlock models? Or is it in-lines vs. sidelocks ie. modern vs primitive?
I seem to remember (too lazy...
Played some with the BLR at the store we sold them at. Never dry fired it so I have no opinion on the trigger. Downside for me is how the trigger dropped with the lever when the gun was cycled. That’s not a legitimate fault of the product but just a personal peeve of mine.
The gun is a typical...
^^^when the safe is chock full it’s more to prevent knicks in wood, scratches on metal etc from handling them while taking long guns out and putting them back in close quarters.
I have 2 T7’s. One is dedicated full time to .357 mag. The other to various other straight walled pistol cases. I REALLY like them. I don’t load rifle calibers on them. No particularly reason for that.
Pro’s: You will NEVER wear one out. Your great grandkids will be using them. They’re...
Always had socks on all my rifles in the safe. Safes were inside house and in unheated garage. Never a problem. However, those safes in the garage did not have the interior exposed to frequent and severe temp changes. Guns were wiped down thoroughly with a silicone impregnated cloth or one...
No Bass Pro close to me. Scheels is too far to be convenient. Cabelas is 12 miles away. Sportsmans is about 6. Rarely go in either but more so Sportsmans.
MidwayUSA and a local caster get most of my business.
