    7.62 NATO Question

I should have answered those queries in my opening post. The projectiles are not match, rather, they're just odd ball 147gr FMJs that will be fired via an M14SA (LRB). I have no plans of straying too far away from 147-150gr M80 ballistics

    Makarov PM

I threw one of these Fab-Defense mag-release grips on a Mak a few years back ... the takeaways -- ergonomics; drop-free mags/easier-faster reloads & a gash-less shooting hand. Post Script: I ditched the lanyard ring https://youtu.be/wvTeMYmafIg?si=Gub4jme7PZYxPwsv

If you could have only one pistol?

I'm with ya… perhaps not the best, but the platform is my favorite, being inherently safe; absolutely dependable; extremely fast & quite accurate.

    7.62 NATO Question

Thanks, A_K… I avoided that because of using 308 data on 7.62N cases … but, seeing where the IMI bullet (base) resides, I could go with a lower C.O.A.L. without creating pressure issues. Hmmm, but how much bullet jump is too much??

    7.62 NATO Question

First-time 7.62 x 51 reloader here & I am questioning my choice of projectiles, X-Treme 147gr. FMJs, which are noteably shorter than both the Hornady & IMI (150gr) FMJ-BTs pictured below. My concern centers on the amount of purchase shared between the X-Treme projectiles, which have a slight...

    9mm 1911 ,who would want one ?

Oh, or should I say, Oooh ... I missed that "I might" comment, but not because I was unimpressed Good luck with your decision ... can't go wrong with a 1911 :)

    9mm 1911 ,who would want one ?

Is the above a tip of your hand, so to speak? If so, and if you’re serious about a .355/.356, you may want to ponder the only other 1911 chambering that bears J. Browning’s & Colt’s fingerprints, the 38 Auto - aka, the 38 Super. I will never forget picking up my very first 38 Super nor the...

What is the nicest gun you were ever given as a gift?

    Mine would be a 2nd cousin's Chicago PD service revolver, a S&W no-dash 586(M) that did talk.

    Why not 22TCM?

@ms6852 ... you're very welcome. I hope you end up getting into a 22 TCM pistol. You're welcome ... I swiped the back of the hood a couple times with a stone, other than that, it was a true drop-in.

    Why not 22TCM?

FWIW, in response to this common 22 TCM theme, I posted the following on another forum a few weeks back: Hopefully, that proprietary status of 22 TCM ammo will be changing. Last year, on a 22 TCM Facebook page & in response to constant carping about the lack of (ammo) availability & variety, 22...

    My favorite Self-Deafness gun

Prior to joining a gun club, most all my indoor shooting was done at a local gun shop/range. Having recently acquired a 30 Carbine NMB, I took it to said range & when queried about my chamberings, I said, 357 Sig; 38 Super & 30 Carbine. The associate says, no rifles allowed on the range, to...

Quick Question: Easy way to separate SPP & LPP .45 brass?

Stop the presses… Having successfully created sofware to separate cases via headstamps, this savant has moved on to separating 45 cases by way of primers: https://youtu.be/vlp6HSuLg_o?si=7EcRObSZcet-Tcwd

Quick Question: Easy way to separate SPP & LPP .45 brass?

@CQB45ACP … It’s far more tactile than it is audible … I suppose if one had cases lined out in a snug loading block, there might be that jointed rail, clickety-clack sound, but not so much with individual cases. The only thinking going on is to be sure the checked cases get tossed into the...
