    Damaged my scope😡

I think it’s bit of a derail but thats how threads go sometimes, they just evolve into something else. This one wasn’t about how tough Nightforce scopes are.

    Damaged my scope😡

I wasn’t meaning to derail a thread, but this is the original question.

    Damaged my scope😡

Yes we’ve seen that before , how well it worked is anyone’s guess but that’s not to say they’ll replace it free as does Vortex.

    Damaged my scope😡

At $2000 each , I’m pretty careful not to abuse.

    Damaged my scope😡

NF doesn’t warranty self inflicted as does Vortex, sure they’ll fix it but you may have to write a check for at least a part of the cost.

    Damaged my scope😡

I found myself being a little more nonchalant knowing I had that warranty. Just me being honest, with a Nightforce I find that I’m always extra intent while handing the rifle.

    Damaged my scope😡

Definitely unfortunate, but here’s a question for vortex owners; Are you less careful of accidents knowing you have that warranty or the same as if you had a super expensive scope without the blanket warranty ? Curious.

    Raising the rear rest

Yeah, might not be the best option but I’ve seen a lot of long range guys do it at my range, I have rigid leather bottom on my bags that sometimes sit directly on a concrete bench without the spacer and no issues, maybe fill rate and composition in the bag plays a bigger role? I know I adjust...

    Raising the rear rest

I’ve seen guys double up plywood to make a small square then add skate board like tape or sticky rubber mat. Myself I order spacer/ leveler bag to go under the rear bag.

    500 yard F-class?

Sounds like a good time, do they have live pits or e targets ? What course of fire is planned ?

Just got a new Teslong Bore Scope

Congratulations’ The best short range shooters in the world can’t do that on a consistent basis with highly specialized rifles. Everyone I’ve ever talked to has thought their cleaning routine was good until they got a bore scope and found out the truth. Including myself. It’s not the end of...

Trimming Cases and the Carbon Ring

I understand what you’re trying to do. I can’t say it’s wrong either, I just don’t see where trimming an extra .005 or .010 is going to affect seating depth , necks are plenty long enough to jam .030 and still have the pressure ring deep in the neck yet above the neck shoulder junction. With the...

Trimming Cases and the Carbon Ring

I would agree with you and add that trimming .020 short of SAMMI minimum is plenty safe. I’ve bought new 308 brass that measured around 1.95

Trimming Cases and the Carbon Ring

I trim .015 short of the reamer print, I could set my trimmer to .020 under without issues. I’m not comfortable getting less than .010 clearance even though my cases do not grow very fast I still use caution.

Just got a new Teslong Bore Scope

No it doesn’t , but only a scope will tell you when the job is done.

    Bench scope

You may find a Nightforce 12-42 at that price, you could certainly find a Sightron 10-50 x60 or Sightron 8-32 x56 all three are excellent and all are available in 1/8 clicks, the next step up at $1200 street price (2nd hand) would be Vortex Golden Eagle 15-60x52 .

Just got a new Teslong Bore Scope

I can’t speak for another man however a full push and pull back through is considered one pass. Caution at the muzzle to not be rough with the crown area.
