Cross another one off the list.

That's part of the reason I went with the .358W VS making a .35W. The recoil with similar bullet weights is about on par with a .308W, and it allows for some faster follow up shots. For my use (drives and still hunting wooded terrain) I could have been very happy with a .35Rem like Hookeye...

Cross another one off the list.

Congrats on the find! I looked for a reasonably priced one to convert for about 2 years, finally found one on GB last year. Mine looked like that in the beginning, when it was a .243Win: Then I had it "fixed" it into a .358Win: Now it's about perfect for up and personal hunting:

    Winchester 1886 45/70 26” barrel

It's a shame. Unfortunately I think it's due to the BPCR sport fading out. I've still got my 4 rifles (Shiloh 74 and 3 Ballard Rifle and Cartridge 1885s), but honestly just don't have the interest in it anymore. Have you tried putting it up on the Shiloh site? That's where most of the BPCR...

    Winchester 1886 45/70 26” barrel

A friend of mine has one, seen here shooting my turkey swinger (385M) off my garage apron: The Creedmoor models command a premium as they didn't hake that many.

    Springfield Armory's SA16-A2

It also pretty much negates a large portion on the versatility of the AR platform, basically shedding 40 years worth of combat development. My 1st issue weapon when I came back in as a 2LT in 87 was the M16A2.. so a little nostalgia, but not enough to overcome 7.8lbs worth of lacking...

An unusual reloading setup? Single stage for sizing/decapping, RCBS Auto Prime, Dillon 5 stage to finish

I've got 4 centerfire presses (and 2 shotgun) My normal procedure for rifle: 1. Decap on an old RCBS RockChucker 2. Wet tumble 3. Dry in a repurposed Dehydrator 4. Check PPs with a gauge and sort (so I don't waste any additional time and in the case of .223 range pick-ups sort the crimped...

Vortex PST Gen II 5-25X on Sale at Midway

Solid scope, I've got 2 of them. Had I waited a few weeks I could have saved another $100.. :(

    Ruger Recall on SR-22

THANKS!! I've got one in the affected SN range, but no symptoms, so I'll keep it under observation.

    Winchester 1886 45/70 26” barrel

A friend of mine bought the deluxe version of that rifle, complete with curved buttplate for an upcoming buffalo hunt. It is seriously no joy off a bench due to the buttplate. It actually is a surprisingly heavy rifle. His with the 24" barrel is in the 9lb range...

    Grayboe Stocks, Opinions?

Yup missed that one. Also just found out that the Ridgeback is an option for Vudu along with Manners and a couple others. The Phoenix arrived yesterday, looks like the picture.. now just waiting on bottom metal and a couple mags. Grayboe makes an Arca rail for it that replaces the MLOK rails and...

Ground hogs had a rough week

That's one thing I miss about living back east, woodchuck hunting in the spring and summer. I've never eaten them, but we did hunt a farm in CT where the owner wanted any that were head shots so she could eat them.

    Are you "brand loyal"?

I sort of am, but not always. Dies: RCBS, Redding, Dillon, Whidden, Forster and 1 set of Neil Jones Presses: RCBS, Redding, Dillon, and Ponsness Warren When it comes to the little stuff; gauges, expanders etc. I'm all over the map. Rifle Bullets: Target: Berger & Sierra Hunting: Nolser I...

Do you guys mount your own scopes?

Always do it myself using a plumb bob, a level that attaches to my barrel, and a torque driver. I then use either a SiteLite laser boresighter or a Leupold "Zero Point" to bore sight.

    “New” old Colt 9mm AR

I just re-looked at your images. Honestly I think you have a feed issue.. mags or geometry IF you're getting that kind of setback with that variety of ammo. My AR6951 for instance hasn't had an issue with V-Crowns, GDs, and even 147grn FP coated bullets. What mags are you using?

    Grayboe Stocks, Opinions?

I couldn't find it either, so I just went off the picture: Looks like a slightly darker desert camo. From what I can gather, they only make or made 2 models of stocks for Bergaras and it was the Ridgeback and the Premier Approach...

    “New” old Colt 9mm AR

Why avoid coated bullets? I've shot thousands of them through my Colt? I normally just run whatever load I'm using in my IDPA gun through mine.. no issues.

    Grayboe Stocks, Opinions?

Thanks guys! I've got a Phoenix 2 in "Rim Country Camo" on the way. I did see that they made the Ridgeback stock for Bergara, they actually have one (Rem SA) on clearance now for $503.10 (free shipping) in Bergara camo...

Sizing Belted Magnums or (How I stopped worrying and embraced the false shoulder)

Now that is a neat trick! I've been annealing 1st, why do you anneal after creating the false shoulder and sizing?? LCT??

Sizing Belted Magnums or (How I stopped worrying and embraced the false shoulder)

That's exactly what I'm doing.. and becoming a freaking expert at Rem 700 "rapid bolt stripping and reassembly" while I'm at it.
