CajunBass Nothing wrong with taking an occasional dip in the Fountain of Youth, mentally at least! Sounds like you did quite well with the H&R 926!

Ruger single six .32 hr mag

Had a couple of Single Sixes and a Bisley in .32 Federal Magnum. they were decent enough but I got tired of trying to track down any ammo for them (keep in mind this was before the Internet) so I traded them in on something else that caught my eye.

    Taurus 445 44spl

I don't know but for $400 (I would see if they could come off the price a little bit), I would take a chance on that Taurus. I like the idea of pairing it up with my Ruger Blackhawk Flattop, also a .44 Special.

    Who dislikes/hates the Beretta 92FS/M9?

bihj You know that was the exact same thing I thought of when I picked up an M92 for the first time: like I was holding onto the barrel of a baseball bat.

Colt series 80 Combat Commander 9 mm

357smallbore If it's really from the1980s, and you decide to get it, look it over very carefully. Colt had a lot of labor problems back then and a lot of stuff went out the door that could have been made better and finished a whole lot nicer too.

    Hi-power grips

Ironicaintit It's funny about those Pachmayr grips for the Hi-Power in that I used the full set, including me not cutting out the front grip strap (something I always did with my 1911s as I felt they made the grip feel it was too wide) and using the separate back strap piece as well. Those...

    Hi-power grips

Ironicaintit As soon as I got home and before I even took the gun out of the box, I went to the nearest gun store and bought me a set of Pachmayrs for it!

    Hi-power grips

The old Pachmayr grips still feel great in my hand. I got the Hogue grips for Christmas one year. Very nice, especially when I want to play Dress-Up with my Hi-Power.

    CZ P-09; bargain blaster

Not a P09 mainly because I felt the longer grip frame was just a little bit too long and awkward for my smaller size hand. Found the P07 much more to my liking. I did change out the decocker for the frame mounted manual safety. Works fine and I like how solid and substantial the gun is.

    Colt Trooper MKIII opinions?

My first centerfire .357 was a 4" Trooper Mk.III. It was built like a brick house , accurate as all get out, and had a pretty decent trigger on it. Only problem I had with it was the roll pin that held the rear sight in place broke in two and caused the sight to move around under recoil...
