I have a fair few rifles in .45 Caliber, ranging from ACP, to Colt, to 454 Casull and 45-70, one in 444 Marlin, and two in .375 (375 Ruger, 9.5x47R) Those are the big ones by caliber.

Correct ball size, in which a minor ring is shaved when seated is the way to stop chain fires. As stated above, lube over ball creates an unnecessary mess.

It’s the abrasive element in toothpaste, for example. The lizard litter will do the clean and polish on its own; the diatomaceous earth just speeds up the process.
