    Thick Front Sight Blades

I'm 60 years old and still have really good distance vision, but like most my age my "near" vision sucks. But there are some things that help. I prefer a .125 front sight on all my revolvers. With front sights such as those found on SA's such as Colt's, Uberti's, Pietta's, etc., the...

https://www.gunbroker.com/All/search/completed?Keywords=uberti%201860%20henry&Timeframe=1&Sort=1&PageSize=48 I tried to post a link for a search of completed auctions but I'm not sure if it will work. If not you'll have to search it yourself. But try it first. 35W

    A '73 Lever Action in.....9mm? Interesting!

TC73 RIFLE 18" .9MM TAYLOR TUNED I have no interest whatsoever as I'm not a fan of the 9mm. Nevertheless, this is a pretty interesting rifle and is 100% made in the U.S. 35W

    Do I really NEED one?

I'm quite the opposite. As a handloader, I don't understand the point of buying a firearm chambered in a given cartridge and downloading it. Much of my rifle hunting is with a .308 Win., but I didn't buy a 300 Weatherby and load it down, because the .308 is just about perfect for the hunting I...

    Do I really NEED one?

I own quite a few SA's in both calibers and have fired thousands of handloads in both. I would without hesitation pick the .44 Special over the .45 Colt. For me the .44 is much easier to load for and almost any reasonable load is accurate. I haven't found this to be the case with the 45 Colt...

    Uberti (Cimmaron) revolver repair

They're quite easy to work on. The one with the cylinder lock up issue probably just need a hammer/bolt spring. With some more detailed info on the other one, we could probably help you figure that out. 35W

    New Model Ruger Black Hawk

Yes, you have to stop when the chamber is aligned with the slot. If you go too far, you can't go back. Another small attention to detail that Ruger has overlooked. Now that I think about it, that's the case with my large frame Blackhawk, but I don't remember having to do that with either of.my...

    Considering this S&W Model 10

Good grief...it's a tool, not a play-pretty. If you want it, buy it, clean it, use it. I went through a Model 10 craze recently and have had I guess a half-dozen of them plus a Model 15. If you're interested in a Model 10, I personally would forego the heavy barrel, I don't think there's...

45 Colt Loads and Position Sensitivity

I guess I don't understand this. I've lost count of the times I've pulled a revolver out of a holster, raised it to level and shot something without a loss in velocity. 35W

    .41 Mag Association

Just got into the bidniss, Charlie! I have a 4 5/8" on the way too. I found those Speer bullets on another forum. A bullet mold will be here by the end of the week. As soon as the other Blackhawk arrives both cylinders will be sent off for reaming. 35W

    .41 Mag Association

Not sure what you're asking, but bullets are usually .410 with some commercial cars bullets sized .411. The groove diameter of my revolver is .4095", two adjacent cylinders .4105" with the other four a bit smaller, hence they're the problem children! 35W

    .41 Mag Association

Brand new to the .41 Magnum here with a very gently used 6-1/2" Blackhawk. I ran about 100 rounds through it last weekend about 1/2 chronographing, 1/2 shooting at targets. I bought a box of MBC Outlaws and have pretty much limited them to <1150 fps with 700-X and W231. It's fairly accurate but...

45 Colt Loads and Position Sensitivity

Um, no. The 45 Auto Rim was designed for use in S&W 1917 45 ACP revolvers. The AR cartridge eliminates the need for ACP cases and moon clips. I have a 1917 and AR rounds are far easier to use than ACP rounds and moon clips. (One can fire ACP cartridges without moon clips, but most of the time...
