Update…..the ‘03 has sold. I got my asking price for it. Also, it was a duplicate and I still have an ‘03 in better condition. After the Luger sells I’ll probably take a couple of Mausers to the LGS. Probably a Swedish and an Argentine. Both are duplicates in the collection. The ‘03 went to a...
Gee, I didn’t think I would get as many thoughtful comments. I really don’t feel bad about selling my collection as this does help other collectors fill their needs. I feel some of the excitement in collecting over the years has been in the hunt for them as well as shooting them.
As I’m in my seventh decade of my life, I’ve decided to let go of some of collection. The P08 is difficult to part with. The 03 not so much as I still have another in better shape. My son isn’t interested in firearms and my stepsons don’t deserve them (long boring story about that). Anyway, they...
This story reminds me why it’s one reason I place any firearms I want to sell on consignment at the LGS. It puts some distance between me and the new owner. Just Incase something bad happens.
I’ve been trying to place an order with a online site called “Lucky Gunner”. Problem is they say they can’t ship to Oklahoma. Can’t understand why and can’t get a response from them. FedEx and UPS deliver here.....So? It is not like I’m trying to buy ammo or firearms. They claim to have what I...
I’ve a M96 Swedish Mauser made in 1919 I bought at a farm auction. After checking with a borescope it still had cosmoline in the chamber and traces in the bore. It shows no wear on the boldface, sling rings, buttplate, mussel or anywhere else. My thought is, it has never been fired. Who would...
I may be able to go tomorrow when they have Elk chili. Today they had a fish fry with French fries. The way that customers are treated, they just keep coming back.
I sold some 8mm and 7.62 Russian to a LGS it was some kind of East European corrosive stuff I bought years ago. Got 40 cents a round for it. Don’t know what the store is selling it for. Btw....reloading supplies are also getting hard to find and expensive.
Went to the LGS and sold 2 spam cans of surplus ammo. One can, unopened, of 8mm Mauser and one opened can 7.62 Russian. Sold it for 40 cents a round. Actually, I took it in store credit. Berdain primed, corrosive and draws a magnet. Everyone is happy with the deal.
Serial number puts in in the range of 1965 for manufacturing. Not really concerned with collector value on this item. It’s really just a run of the mill deer rifle.
