I use a hollow base bullet 150 gns. The picture shows the store bought with no lube groove next to my home cast and have found triple 7 to be the best powder for 38 long colt.
Velocity's in the low 900s which is still a bit hotter then they were originally loaded
Well I reached out to Pietta and sent them a picture of the sku# on the box explained this happened on my first time using it, and they are shipping me a new loading lever.

Well I got her out today and much to my surprise she put all the balls nearly touching at 7 yards with a chamber full of 3f old eynsford and a .323 ball
The only problem I had was using the slix hand created too much torque and bent the hole the screw gos through that holds the rammer to the frame

Preformed excellent using lees tumble lubed 240 gn pills very miniscule leading almost non-existent ran about 80 rounds through her today without a hickup

I have some cast ones I cast accuracy is superb and with a full case of triple 7 they run around 930 fps not so anemic as they were once thought to be.
I don't push em to hard to...
I use a 150 grain flat nose hollow base bullets. This allows the skirt to grip the rifle and reinstate solid accuracy.
I use all new starline brass and depending on customers need push the bullet with different powder

225 grain hollow base wadcutters. Found a good powder that shoots to point of aim and when turned around old school hollow point they become vicious.
I only use USA brands in my ammunition
