I’m loyal to this brand 🇺🇸. First thing I do is check where it’s made. Everything else is a subordinate consideration. In today’s global market it’s become very hard to source from my home turf. Reloading is one of the few areas that still gives me multiple choices from home.
I have a mix...
Several blogs are reporting this. One source appears to be the Powder Valley feed. Their (Alliant) explanation is "...a world-wide shortage of nitrocellulose."
I think mshootnit is asking if anyone has reliable info that eye injuries from the bolt being pulled back in operation are occurring vs an injury from a ruptured receiver/bolt lugs giving way under pressure of a fired round.
Re: the previous comment by the OP about keeping the cheek weld on the...
Over the years the Henry’s took a lot of heat for making new models that weren’t historically correct. The lack of a side gate really seemed to be an issue for ‘purists’. Owning Winchesters and Marlins I get that. There’s just something more macho or manly about watching Chuck Connors jacking...
.44 mag was a round built for hot loads from the git go. The venerable Colt had to wait for technology/designs to catch up to allow full use of its case capacity with modern powders. Regardless, Colt brass still isn’t as durable as .44mag. That’s only a concern for reloaders.
As already stated...
Both makers have some great options for you to consider.
However, as DMW1116 so correctly pointed out the single action and .45 Colt go together like Beam and Coke.
And here’s something else to consider. A single action Colt .45 is NEVER happy alone in the safe. It will continue to whine and...
SA has done this before. I think they had a World War II version in that wooden box and an Iwo Jima one. I know this because my ex boss (prior Marine) bought one for himself as a retirement gift.
^^^Exactly. It was NIB and I had to bite my tongue when I initially saw the listed price. Also….Better than even chance that if the gun is bought by someone who doesn’t reload it will be back under the glass in 3-4 months.
Last gun I bought months back was a Bisley Single Six in .32 H&R. Was out and about riding the Road King to a local microbrewery owned by an ex army combat vet to fill a growler and decided to stop at a pawn shop which prominently displays GUNS on their store sign. Had never been there before...
That mag in the P90 ‘appears to have more of a swoop than standard 10/22 mags. Does it take standards?
Forgot to add: ok…that P90 is just flat out kool!
‘Gun Smith’, like Hero kinda gets tossed around rather loosely.
Getting a scope mounted at the shops in Cabelas, Sportsmans or any other retail store doesn’t ensure it’s a smith that’s doing it. In fact, it’s almost a sure bet it isn’t in those instances.
Even if a ‘smith’ went to a...
Give me a 7 shot .327 Fed Mag and I’ll line up at the trough with a fist full of ever depreciating yankee greenbacks.
Otherwise S&W and Ruger have the .357 and .44 mag calibers covered in my collection.
With what appears to be an increase in the popularity of pistol caliber lever rifles I would say that’s picking up some of the slack for lack of revolver sales vs semi auto handguns.
Of course this could also have a positive synergistic effect on revolver sales as folks are looking to pair the...
