Lee Perfect Powder Measure and Loads Less than One

gfanikf- don't feel bad, I never figured out the auto dial and AND also only recently pulled out my perfect measure to retry it. Run a few hoppers full of powder through it to get it 'seasoned' and it works pretty well. I still measure every load - so you ain't the Lone Ranger. enjoy!

Can't seem to use the Lee Primer Feeder

Mine has worked almost 100% and even when it gets low. Love it and it is a great place to leaver a bunch of primers. Neat how it flips them right side up after a little shake. SSYOUMANS described the one thing that had been getting me. I re-read his and realized- AHA! It is the tiniest...

    270 load ?s

I had better luck with IMR4350 in the 130's and for everything heavier use H4831sc. 54.5grains IMR 4350 was my best load for the 130 Interlock.

OK Suggestions for the best option, Round 2

col_temp sorry for the delay in response. I think the Burris in that price has an edge over the Nikon. There are more Nikon lines than there are Burris and to beat a Fullfield you would have to get a Monarch - and even then the performance difference is debatable. I gravitate to 42mm scopes as...

OK Suggestions for the best option, Round 2

I am familiar with each of these rifles you list. The older Remington is the best of that bunch. Trust me it is the one you would kick yourself in a few years for not buying it. The others will still be available at budget pricing for some time to come so you owe it to yourself to have one...

    308, which one

two options given your criteria Jeepmor - for what you are wanting two rifles come to mind-particularly the wood stock variety. A) is the CZ 550 and here is why. CZ actually laps the barrels (less break in- less fouling) and supplies rings for the rifle which are a cost savings. The...

CZ 97 BD vs SR11. I'm not sure of my next .45 acp purchase

buddhas- just make sure to grab both. I would recommend the CZ but I think once you compare the grip to the 1911 you will end up with the Ruger.

Let's dicuss the best C&R pistol for around $200

Well I have a Polish Tokarev and a FEG PA64. Completely different beast but both have an inviting feel in the hand. The TT-33 is skinny and works great squeezed between the seats of the trcuck. It is also not tough to tuck in the back waisteband. The Tokarev has a terrible trigger- not just...

    9x18 mak ammo

Just a friendly reminder to stay away from the heavy 105 grain ammo - if there is still some out there. It is like shooting+P ammo and not all guns are safe with it. The wife's FEG wasn't . The 90-ish grain stuff is a lot more pleasant.

    HK 9mm vs Kimber Solo

I love my Kimber 1911 but if getting a 9mm I would definitely take the HK- congrats on a creat pistol.

    CZ 1911(Kinda)

Someone chime in here and correct me if I am wrong but didn't the Colt-CZ deal go south and when it did CZ was left with a bunch of extra slides that they ended up putting on the upcoming P01 frame and called that gun the 40 P ?

Aha moments and other musing reloading thoughts

My Aha moment- first time I used a Hornady Cam-Lock bullet puller.

First lever action. Which caliber? Which brand?

I have and love my Browning B-92 in 44mag, great toting little rig. I have taken a few hogs with but do think something with a bit more oomph would be reassuring. A new off the shelf would probably be a Marlin in 35 Rem using the Hornady Lever Revolution stuff. I reload but not for my...

    First rifle, Tikka T3 lite - 7mm-08 or 270?

Friend of mine got his first rifle last year and same question came up- I pushed the 7mm-08. Anything to reduce recoil in a light rifle will be appreciated.

Which semi auto is best combo for plinking/hogs

Well you can't get cheaper ammo than 7.62x39 nor a cheaper semi auto than an SKS so.... Was going to add that there is not a more reliable $300 semi auto made than the SKS - but might change that to any semi auto period! Tons of mods, ability to load 10 w/o an extended clip- and uses stripper...

****The best powder for a .270 winchester****

    I concur with Bwana John. For 130 -140 IMR 4350. Fro 150 grains, H4831sc.

Anyone still into and shooting SKS's ??

Smokey Joe- thanks. For the refinishing I used a mix of acetone and diatomaceous earth and brushed it on. It dries fast then you brush it off - but really that didn't work for this type of finish and this type of wood. I got more aggressive and scraped it. I then sanded it, stained it with...

Anyone still into and shooting SKS's ??

forgot you asked to see 'em. Ok. A friend liked mine so well he bought one and asked me to camo it for him in any way I liked. This simple camo blends in very well and he just loved it. When I was about 75% done I thought it was terrible. Amazing how a few touches can turn something around...
