    Springfield Armory Garrison 4.25" Problems

NONE. So far. Sorry for the title, but I had to make a splash entrance. I just picked this gun up a week ago. I have a thing for carbon steel blue handguns. I like 4" N frames and I like commander sized 1911 style guns that are blue carbon steel with 70 series triggers. (I'm sure I will be...

    1873 Drifter 45 auto

Shot 12 rounds today. Perfect function. These revolvers use a cylinder pin bushing. A new one came with the 45 auto cylinder. It was a perfect match to the one for the 45 colt cylinder. The two cylinders were the same length also. The difference was that the 45 auto cylinder needed to have...

    1873 Drifter 45 auto

Happy Friday to you all, A year ago, or so I purchased a Taylor's 1873 Drifter 45 Colt revolver. My shooting buddy has an 1875 Outlaw 45 Colt which prompted me to get a single action also. I have two Smith and Wesson revolvers that shoot 45acp and a Les Baer 45 auto and thus wanted to get a...

How often do you USE the handgun you carry in the woods?

I started taking my 44 mag with me on my morning walk because someone said that there was a cougar sighting in our neighborhood, then someone showed a picture on their security camera and it was some 50-year-old mothers out for a walk and now I just go for a walk.

    Colt King Cobra

So I had a Ruger Vaquero 44 magnum that I was trying to sell and didn't have any luck so I bit the bullet which I really didn't care too much about the gun anyway and I took it to the local gun store and traded it in on something that I thought I would like better like a double action revolver...

    DA 22 with worst trigger

    Revolver barrel porting

I had one of those. I can't imagine porting will help. It us very loud and will just be louder. But no, I have no suggestions other than magna port.

    416 Rigby

Sweet. I have a ruger number one 458 win mag. Never fired a factory round yet. 5744 and lead bullets are downright fun. I even shot a whitetail 15 years ago. Haven't had any elephant issues in our neighborhood either.

    Smith & Wesson 625 .45acp performance center

I have loaded and fired thousands of 45auto with 200g lswc and 5.5g 231 and never had bullet creep. Always crimp .469-.470 and all ammo works flawless in my les Baer and my 25-2 and 625-3. Always have seated and crimped in one station and not one issue.

Load manuals, how do use it?

I have about four or five different reloading manuals and I know some guys use them as reference only but I tend to read them from cover to cover and what I've discovered is there are a lot of hidden bits of information in other places of the load manual that you wouldn't get if you only use it...

My initial impressions of the Lee pro 6000

Hey folks, my last post was a mess. I did in on my phone and got all kinds of weird spacing, etc. Sorry, it has been corrected.

My initial impressions of the Lee pro 6000

Stefan A, like most people I started out on a single stage and for me it was in 1997. Then I got a Redding turret press and then I took the plunge and tried an inexpensive Lee load master probably around 8 years ago. I primarily load 45 Auto on it but I do a few other calibers in the switching...

My initial impressions of the Lee pro 6000

I was loading 45acp on my 6000 yesterday. I used the case feeder and only had to place a bullet manually. My load speed is between 9 and 10 seconds per round. No errors in 350 rounds except I ran out of primers twice and had to regroup. I love the 6000.

    255 gr for .45 acp

I guestimated and ran with 6.0g of universal for my 625. I didn't have my chrono but they felt less recoil than 230g HST +p factory ammo. They thumped the steel plate with authority.

9mm LSWC or 38 Super LSWC

So I don't own a gun for either of those two calibers. I do shoot a lot of 200 grain LSWC in my 45 auto. I've been reloading since the late '90s. I have never seen or heard of a lead semi-wad cutter for either of these two rounds. You see them for 38 special, 357 Magnum, 44 magnum, 45 Colt, 45...

    Lee 6000 Personal Experience

I started out with a Lee single stag press in 1997, got a Redding T7 around 2002, a Lee Loadmaster around 2014. When the 6000 came out I wanted to wait to see some reviews and finally decided to get one. I think Lee nailed it. The Loadmaster has its quirks but the 6000 is awesome. I am only...

    S&W Lew Horton versions

I have a beautiful 24-3 44 special, 3" tapered barrel, perfect lock up. Amazing blue. I bought it in approximately 2006 for $545.00. Approximate build date of 1983. I have hogue Cocobolo grips on it. I don't think I'd sell for any reasonable amount.

Why do folks like SA revolvers still?

For me it has little to do with how it shoots points aims or anything like that. I actually much prefer the look and feel of a double action Smith & Wesson revolver. However once I held an Uberti replica and saw how well it was made I thought to myself I have to have one of these. It's fun to...
