Don't know if you have seen the new WASRs or not . Theses rifles are being made with new receivers & are leaps and bounds nicer than the older offerings from century . They are stamped with 2013-2014 mfg dates . Straighter & cleaner these days .
You may want to consider selling the older one &...
This is an interesting point of view Nathan . Makes sense since we've seen this before . I think you're absolutely right ; someone else will take up the slack if the Russian ammo flow is restricted even more ....
I am on the fence in the matter of taking in a TNN Bulgarian AK-74 in a trade . I have a fair amount of experience with AK-47s . Not so much with the AK-74 .
I have owned 3 AK-47s . Love the rifle & the round . Ammo is available everywhere & its cheap .
Any major differences with the AK-74 ...
The older ones (Pre-Remington) are Heirloom Quality rifles & most people know it . The key to finding a good deal on one is finding someone who doesn't understand what they have :D
Here's another vote for a SKS . Judging from your board handle you already have 7.62 x 39 on hand . I love my SKS . Its bone stock with nice wood & is more than capable of Taking "mid size game" at 100 yards . A nice one can still be had in my neck of the woods for $350.00 ish .
Good luck on...
Glad to hear it Primalmu . Ive been hearing from several sources that the current batch of M44s at J&G are top notch . Im looking forward to picking one out this afternoon . An M44 & 440 rds of ammo for under $300.00 is about as good as it gets these days :D Enjoy your new rifle & let us know...
Another vote for a Marlin 39a . I have been wanting one for several years . As luck would have it a 1953 model followed me home a couple of weeks ago . It has exceeded my wildest expectations . A joy to shoot & EXTREMELY ACCURATE .
I could'nt agree more . I just picked up a 1985 336cs . Carbine , nice wood , smoothe action & an acceptable trigger . Nice looking gun with a cheap but servicable tasco scope . Got it for just north of $200.00 . An outrageous deal by any standard ! I see them regularly for $300.00 and up ...
"New" 39a takedown
Just picked up a 39a Takedown . Its been refinished & showing a little wear on the bluing . Have not shot it yet . $400.00 . Serial # k= 1953 ? How did I do ?
I too really wanted a 39a (still do !) . But went with the more reasonably priced Henry . I also was not happy with the painted reciever cover . So , I took it off , stripped it , polished it & clear coated it . While I was at it I polished the stock .
I could not be happier with my little...
Just a word about the ZAMAC alloy receiver ; Bought a new H001 , out the door under $300 . Stripped the reciever cover , polished it sealed it & called it good . Looks great , functions flawlessly and is ACCURATE . Im a Marlin fanboy but would not spend $600.00+ on a new "Remlin" 39a & the...
