Beware the E2
I am posting this to warn all you fellow "Sig purists" out there about the new Sig Sauer P226 and P229 E "squared" pistols. Last week, I went to my favorite gun shop armed with my vacation money, looking for a good used German Sig....hoping to catch another deal on a nice police...
My 908 was one handgun I owned that would load ANYTHING I put in it and shoot it accurately. In fact, it was so reliable and easy to operate, I gave it to my son to use as his personal carry. These guns are held on to and even passed down through the generations, as they are classic weapons that...
W. German Sig Sauer P226 in my holdster, with a nice 12ga Tactical shotgun loaded with 00 Buckshot, and some slugs on the side rack! (a couple grenades couldn't hurt either, but that's probably for another forum!)
If it feels good: SHOOT IT!!
Bought a new Mosquito standard version Black on Black in May, and it has been pretty much flawless through some 500 rounds of various ammo. The first 200 CCI Mini Mags went bang 100%, then 200 rounds of Winchester Super X, which also went 100%. It seems that the gun...
Classic Sig for a super price
Got myself a P6 for Christmas, and I have put about 3,000 rounds of all types of ammo through it with outstanding results. This weapon is ergonomic, absolutely reliable and amazingly accurate (and also a snap to strip and clean)!! Got mine from Guns and Knives here...
Just got a new Mosquito....took it to the range Saturday, and put 200 rounds through it. The first 100 were CCI Mini-Mags, so there were no problems, next tried some Winchester Wildcat, with one feed jam out of 50 rounds. Finally, I tried some American Eagle, which the gun did not like....had...
To Hell and Back,
I currently have two Sig Sauer Pistols: The P6 pictured here, which I got for Christmas, and a brand new Mosquito, which I don't have a pic of yet (just picked it up yesterday). The West German P6 is an awesome pistol, both in performance and design; and it's also a piece of...
Purchased a 908 back in Sept for $395 or so...this weapon has been reliable as the sunset with any type ammo shoved into it! Also, it has been very accurate and easy to shoot, due to the heavier frame. As an added bonus, it is simple to clean and maintain. But one thing I feel I must mention...
I Use both brands in my S&W 908 and my Sig P6, in 9mm of course. After firing about 3,000 rounds of it at the range, I can say that so far the S&B is clean, accurate, loaded slightly hotter (than say, WWB), and very high quality....it's even packaged in a smaller pattern in an oil impregnated...

Thanks guys....should have checked the date on the last post....worked out well anyway, as I got to "learn up" on some new info as a result; thanks Exmasonite and SM. By the way, I really enjoy your well written and informative posts, Mr Levitian. Keep up the good work and thanks to all!
I carry a Spyderco Tenacious....it has a G10 handle that fits my large hands like a glove. It's relatively inexpensive, so I don't mind using it at work.....the combo edge comes in very handy at the machine shop. Also got spyderco folders for all three of my sons....Great Value at a fair price...
Gave my 908 to my son for his personal carry, as it is as reliable as the sunset, accurate, digests any ammo, and is a snap to maintain......wise choices, as you can never go wrong with a Smith 3rd generation, and their customer service is 2nd generation to none. Have fun and be safe!!
Try AMMO TO GO.....got some CCI Mini Mags for my Ruger 10/22, as decent .22 ammo is getting rare around here......the ammo was priced about right when you add in shipping, and it arrived promptly to my workplace via UPS. http://www.ammunitiontogo.com/
I also bought a Sig P6, which was a great deal on a super gun...have put about 1,000 rounds through it since Christmas, without a single problem, firing both FMJ and JHP ammo . Like it so much, I gave my S&W 908 personal carry weapon to my son, and replaced it with the Sig....I paid $399 each...
P6 Range Report
Finally got my Christmas P6 to the "Range"....This is the first mag through that beauty at 7 yards: http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y19/herdoyuy/P1010125.jpg....shooting one shot approx every 2 seconds....no jams or problems firing about 100 rounds of S&B FMJ and some Fiocchi...
Have a S&W 908, and it is super-reliable, accurate, easy to clean and a pleasure to shoot (we have put thousands of rounds through it). It is not as fancy as a 3913, but every bit as well made, as it is basically the same gun. Recently jumped on the Sig P6 bandwagon, and I am handing down the...
Two....A Sig Sauer P6 ($399), and a Ruger 10/22 Carbine ($240)....love em both, and sorry to hear about your oppression up in New York....have a good holiday season anyway!!
Got a 908 about 2 months ago, and absolutely love it. Accurate, reliable, durable, easy to clean, inexpensive and eats up any ammo like candy.....what's not to love?? Pd $399 for mine.....best money I ever spent!
Can't go wrong with a 908....Got mine for $399 about 2 months ago, and have put about 2,000 rnds of S&B 115 gr FMJ, as well as some Fiocchi 115 JHP's, and this weapon shoots and cleans like a dream, and eats up any ammo like oreo cookies! Giving it to my son to use as his personal carry. I will...
