In my case, the closest thing to that feeling would be my Manurhin MR73 revolvers.
They are fantastic firearm, shoot great, but I also love their history and esthetics.
"Is it legal to stand my ground or am I obligated by law to try to Run away first?
How would you Deffuse a situation?"
Sometimes you have to use good old common sense. If you're being attacked, turning your back to your attacker is a pretty bad idea. Are you sure you can outrun your attacker...
What range? Is he big/small? Unarmed, armed/with what?
Possible accomplices near by? A bike or car driving suspiciously slow near by?
Not enough information.
Lets say he’s very close, I’m using my hands, more distance, and I’m drawing while I use my sacrifice hand to keep him at bay...
If I had waited until I was in a fight I would have been forced to use the knife against them. They had no weapons of any kind, didn’t look overly big or strong, so I brought my knife out, no to threaten but to make it clear that I was armed (at least better than they were!).
Similar principle...
Something like this :
YMMV, but things like “Rule 1 of knife defense- Bring a gun.” Or “Rule 2- Don't be there.”
I don’t know, seems a lot of people love coming up with these rules, it may work for some, but I don’t see the use in turning the obvious into rules.
How about some more...
Your thoughts?
How about moving away as you draw instead of acting like some robot, kicking him as he rushes in ( the way he ran a side kick would have left him flat on his back).
Using your sacrifice arm would get you cut (sometimes you just can't avoid it), but you'd sure manage to shoot...
Owned Taurus, Rossi (older ones) , S&W and Colt.
Taurus are the worst, no doubt.
I owned 3 Taurus, none was worth the price I paid and they all had problems.
No, you are comparing a 2nd grade gun with Ruger and Smith that offer some of the best revolvers made.
Yes, for life.
It...
Depends if I’m wearing as jacket or not, but mostly this is what I have on me:
*Either Glock 31 (357 SIG ) or Bersa Thunder 9 (9mm)
*For backup, a S&W M12 Airweight 2” barrel (38 special)
*Spare mag, EMB for the 9mm or more Gold Dot for the Glock.
*I always carry a Cold Steel Folder...
This post has certain issues that would be better resolved in the legal forum, but from a strategic point of view, yes, a person can beat you to death and it occurs rather often if you search a bit.
The most important thing to mention here would be, only shoot when you feel as sure as you can...
Used to have them a lot. Malfunctions, slow motion bullets, hitting people and achieving nothing.
But I haven’t had them in years. Had them when I first started shooting and thinking about self defense I guess.
On the other hand, my wife still has dreams about people braking in and me making...
Good point. And there’s more,
A big, strong guy isn’t necessarily a good fighter, even if he's a good athlete.
I once sparred with a guy that was a Rugby player. Big strong guy.
As soon as we start fighting I notice that he looks kind of scared and isn’t throwing any punches.
I punch...
Not enough data but if mom had no training, she was extremely lucky.
Things can turn out a number of ways.
You say “ boo!” and the two or three guys run away.
Or it just might not be your day and when mom fights back the accomplice just shoots her.
Sometimes training and/or greater...
It’s generally made of a single color, most of the one’s I saw were blue ink.
They are generally a name (wife/girl/kids) or some poorly drawn skull, knife, spider or spider web, or some other drawing, always pretty amateur, sometimes look almost like a kid made it.
They are very basic, most of...
I’ve read a few reports on gunfights, both here and in other places.
I’ve never read, heard or saw anyone “fight his way to his rifle” .
Can anyone provide one or two accounts where a person fought his way to his rifle?
