Thinking about trading for an early 1980's Remington BDL in .223 with a sporter barrel. Rifle appears to be in great shape and shot little. Its hard to find a value on the .223's as there aren't a ton of them out there. Anyone have any idea of its value or rather whats the most you'd give for...
Agreed. The iron sights on an M1A are far superior to that of the BAR's. If a scope was not in the equation and 250 yard shots were needed give me the M1A all day.
But at 250 yards I personally would be better off with a scope and since I'm not a fan of hunting with heavy scoped M1A's I think...
More range time, less hunting = M1A Scout
More hunting, less range time = Browning BAR
The other rifles mentioned are good too if they suite you. For 250 yard shots on game I'd prefer a scope myself which would be a major plus for the Browning imo as the package would be handier than some of...
The 1991 is the 80 series plane jane Colt and is priced similar to the Loaded Springer. The Loaded will have more "upgrades" like beavertail safety, novak style rear sights, dove tailed front sight, extended thumb safety, flared and lowered ejection port, skeleton hammer, and maybe a few...
For me the main advantages are the better quality small parts (easily changed out in the Springer), the fact its made here in the US and that its one of a few "affordable" 1911's that comes blued nowadays. Those things considered I think the Colt is a better value over the Springer FOR ME. Now...
My favorite non-1911 45's:
1. Older W. German or 100% German made Sig P220
2. H&K USP
3. New P220 with US made slide
4. Glock 21SF but M&P, XD,FNP,...., are solid choices
Of course I prefer a good 1911 to all those though :)
My buddy had a CZ-97 and I can see why people like them but the...
I'm also a little surprised that the Super Blackhawk in 44 mag didn't get much love. I'm a sucker for 44 Special but I thought 44mag had a bigger following.
For those that praise the 357/9mm combo, I'm tempted to try it but my 357's usually get benched in favor of 44 Special or 45 Colt, the...
451: Those are extremely nice, I'd be real happy owning either of those. Something about those 4 5/8" barrels blows my skirt up big time.
I think I may need both the 45 Colt convertible and 44 Special when its all said and done. Big fan of both those calibers.
They certainly aren't messing...
If I had to buy them today I'm thinking Stainless Single Six 22lr/22wmr with 5.5" barrel and a 4 5/8" blued Blackhawk in 45lc. I vaguely remember thinking the Bisley grip didn't work with my hand well.
Whats better about the older models specifically?
The Dan Wesson's jumped up in price for this year big time. Supposedly the quality jumped up as well, many owners claim the 2011 Valor is on par with the Les Baers. But in the case of this gun that finish raises the price over SS a few hundred I think, just like the black Valors. You're right...
Apocalypse: You inferred that a DE can't go a few thousand full power rounds. My own gun did and there is no appreciable wear on the rails or broken parts. That's a fact where I come from.
Will a G20 "FAR" outlast a 1911 in 10mm? Give me a few years and I will be back with an answer to...
