I recently signed up there, I'm also a member at a couple other 1911 dedicated forums. The ones I'm not on you can be sure I've lurked.
I've looked through that thread before, but as always it is awesome to see his collection.

...And it would be nice to put some honest wear on her myself.
The Colt Wiley Clapp may not be in the same league as the other guns, but sure as **** it fits the bill. I really like it, accept for the thumb safety. Speaking of which, when I say "extended safety" I really just mean a modern...
I'll be 24 in June. I have one other handgun, and I try to put 100 rounds a week though it in the summer. This one will likely be the only handgun I add for the next year or two and likely the only 1911 in 45 I have for a long time. I don't sell guns, and have a lot of life ahead of me. While it...
Thanks for the input guys.
As far as needing front strap checkering... different strokes for different folks. I shot 100 rounds through a Springfield Range Officer in 45ACP, and found that it was something I consider important. But there are enough 1911s on the market that we can all find...
I'm in the market for a 1911, and have been for quite some time. I've handled countless, but found myself underwhelmed with most of them. I'm looking for some specific things in a 1911 and was wondering if anyone here could think of a model that fits the bill. The gun would be primarily for...
I said 8+1. I think carrying that many rounds of 45 is well armed. I didn't feel like I needed more gun with my 220.
I now carry a G17 with 10 round magazine. Not because of the capacity, because of the price of ammo.
I carried a spare magazine with the Sig, and still do with my Glock.
I bought a brand new 220 carry dark elite (da/sa) for $1187 after tax. I sold it for $700, with most of them going between $700 and $800 used.
Being its a little older, and it doesn't have the beavertail I would think it's worth around $700 for the gun. Add in the mags, and I would call it...
It is to easy for a woman to claim a man a domestic abuser and have his rights removed, when nothing has happened.
I do take domestic violence seriously, and am in no way saying true domestic abusers should retain their rights. They shouldn't. But lets separate the BS from the abusers.
My 220 has yet to fail. At the end of the day, it just fits. And if it was a duty weapon I wouldn't worry about the weight, as you should have a good belt on.
The 227 may be even more promising though...
Anything but full repeal is a slap in the face.
They are trying to back pedal on the most obviously unconstitutional portion of this bill. But it is by no means the only. The only reason they are doing this is because of the NYSRPA and Tresmond lawsuits that they know they are going to lose...
If you live in Colorado don't think your alone. I'm from NY and we have been railroaded the same way you have. Don't listen when folks try to tell ytou this is your own fault. Just email, petition, protest, and speak out.
We may be getting an injunction against our new maddness (not the old...
Got my permit, and went to the local Gander Moutain to get a feel for some different guns and see how they fit my hand. Enter the Sig P228 M11A1. AKA the glove. Cause thats how it fit my hand. However, being Gander Moutain, and living in New York, it was over priced. $1,129.
Anyone know...
My advice on exercise? Talk to your doctor about exercises that could help. He will know best, and might be able to refer you to someone who does this kind of stuff for a living. It could be beneficial outside of shooting as well.
My other advice? Bring your pistol back in. The meanest...
Congrats. I only know what I read about 1911s on the web. So, i obviously can't tell you what to look for. I can only tell you it looks good.
Is that a peice of wood? Seems out of place. If it is wood, I have looked at 1911s online for a few years now planning my purchase (Im pretty picky)...
Its my understanding that its not just semi autos. But I truely don't know. Ive had trouble findiong the bill to review. Now that there seems to be a link i'll have a look see.
Well, shes a looker I'll tell you that. I don't think that the saftey detracts in anyway from the gun's appearance.
Have you given the gun a full strip and clean? Try taking her completely apart giving everything a wipe down, and a small drop of oil in the right spots and see how she runs...
This is amazing. I'm really impressed. It's the first time I have seen an Email about this type of issue work (or appear to work).
Great job doing the right thing for RTKBA.
