Well poop. https://www.shootersforum.com/threads/beartooth-status%E2%80%A6.240842/#post-2303744
post #9 says,"We recently received word, that Marshal has had some changes in life and is no longer in the bullet business.
I'll let Mike elaborate further if he wishes."
guess it's time to get into...
I know it's been months, but now the website is completely down, even for ordering... I placed an order on July 22, and haven't heard anything, but have had similar waits in the past. but now the website says "account suspended". any update on if Beartooth is still up and running?
I just loaded some pf the 150gr ABLR up. I'm hoping they will end up being about right for these speeds. As mentioned in my first post, I've read some reviews of minimal penetration and fragmentation with them, but I assume those were out of 7mm Rem Mag or higher, hitting over 3000 fps. I'm...
I haven't used any of the mono bullets, and have heard numerous reports of them not opening at the bottom of their performance envelope, which is where the 7x57 lives, right?
I'm trying to develop a go-to hunting load for my wife's rifle, a sporterized 1895 Chilean Mauser with, as best I can tell, the original barrel shortened to 22". We live in Alaska, so this will primarily be for moose. When we lived in the lower 48, I had a nice load built up with the Hornady...
Thanks. I emailed Vortex to ask about the Strike Eagle, and they said the recoil of the 35 Whelen wouldn't be a problem at all. I found one locally for a screaming deal. The rifle gets here in a week or two, and I can't wait to put it through its paces.
I'm planning on moving to Alaska sometime this summer, hopefully long-term.
I've been looking at rifles & such and have settled on a 35 Whelen built on a mauser action. I'm not asking for input on cartridge choice or whatever. I know you can only stop a grizzly with a 50 BMG or, if that...
Yeah, I was looking at doing a pistol upper in 10mm as I already load that, but reliable mags & feeding seem iffy...

I have a spare 80% lower I recently completed, and have been considering building an AR pistol out of it.
Which chambering does the best with a short (7-10") barrel? Meaning, which one loses the least performance?
I know 300 BLK is intended for subsonic use, but that doesn't necessarily mean...
I find it interesting that the max charge varies so much. I wonder why Lyman dropped so low. Their 49th shows 5.0. just goes to show, what worked in my gun might be unsafe in yours...

First off, do you have at least one current reloading manual? They usually walk you through the basics.
col or oal is case overall length (loaded).
Alliant Powder Reloader's Guide 2000 edition gives a max charge of 6.2gr unique for jacketed 125gr bullets (close enough for the 124 XTP)...
For what it's worth, I have a GP100 4" and a Witness 10mm. The revolver is more pleasant with hot loads, but not by much. My 357 load is a 185 gr hardcast at 1350fps. My hot 10mm load is a 200 gr XTP or hardcast at 1250fps...

You can get conversion barrels for the Glock 20 to use 40, and many people don't even bother using a different barrel... You can also get a Glock 21 slide/barrel to run on your 20 to shoot 45. Reloading is almost necessary for 10mm unless you like paying $35/50... With handloads the 10mm...
If you want to do 2 birds with one gun, try a 10mm. Can hunt with it, it's a semi auto, and very versatile. I'd recommend the Glock 20 or EAA Witness Elite Match, especially if you like the feel of CZ's...
Only downside is ammo expense of you don't reload.

Nicely done. Any big game taken with archery is a trophy. I hunted elk for 6 years in Washington while living there, and saw elk exactly once during the season...

We use the Spot in our flight school airplanes. You can give anyone the device specific link to follow your progress. You can set it up to auto update our to just mark locations when you tell it. There is also SOS capability, and gives SAR your current coordinates. It is a subscription...
12.4 is the top of the data from Accurate. Their load book ver. 6.0 says 11.2-12.4 for a 158gr lswc.
