I load full wadcutters, a classic target bullet.
The fact that I carry a revolver could indicate the same thing.
I will not let the left dictate how I chose to live.

Actually, the first N frame was chambered for a 45 caliber cartridge, the 45 S&W Special, for the 1907 Army Trials. And it seems that S&W have built more 45 caliber N frames than any other cartridge.
But that is not what the OP asked.
Is the 44 dying? Maybe not, but I have only two left, both...
To put it concise, I don’t care for any self loader. Too many decades with a S&W in my holster or in my hand.
Not to say they aren’t good, just they don’t answer my needs.

I competed in PPC. Started with swaged bullets, bought a half pallet at a time. 2.8 grains of Bullseye was the ticket in my revolvers. Eventually tried cast wadcutters. Bought several different molds. Eventually settled on the Lee wadcutter and found 2.8 was still the right number.

Sorry to hear that. Around me, the most soup kitchens and similar will take any meat that has been handled at a processing center. Lots of folks are hungry.

It can be argued that the 50-70 probably accounted for more bison than any other cartridge.
I know the more I use my 50-70, the less use I have for the small ore -70.

When I was heavily into the 45-70, I found the Trapdoors shot best with the largest bullet I could fit in the case and chamber. Two of mine ( one rifle, one carbine) needed .461 to function at their best.
The Lee hollow based bullet can mitigate some of those problems if cast soft enough to...
