    Reloading remanufactured cases

Relatively new to reloading and am curious if cases from remanufactured ammo can be reloaded and whether it is advisable to do so. I have about 50 remanufactured, once-fired (by me) .44mag cases that pass initial inspection and show no signs of non-reloadability. Curious of some more...

    Bayonet ID - Gew98 Seitangewehr?

Wow that's quite a lot. If there is a date it's worn off or illegible.

    Bayonet ID - Gew98 Seitangewehr?

Looking to get an ID on this bayonet, I believe it to be for a German Gewehr 98 pattern rifle, but there seems to be several variations that don't quite look like this one when I search for Seitangewehr or gew98 bayonet. It's very long, more than 2ft overall length. Has a scabbard that appears...

Handloaded Cartridge ID Request: .50-? formed from .348 Win Case

Thanks for the offer. I am in the process of acquiring some reloading equipment. .348 is not super high on the list at the moment, but perhaps someday. I recently did find some factory .348 and paid a pretty penny for it ($3ish per shot).

Handloaded Cartridge ID Request: .50-? formed from .348 Win Case

The ironic part is that I still have the Model 71 from this collection, and not much ammo for it.

Handloaded Cartridge ID Request: .50-? formed from .348 Win Case

A long time ago I inherited a large, diverse gun collection along with all kinds of ammunition and accessories to go with it. Most of the collection has been gone through already, but I still have some things that even I, in my now more than a decade of experience as a shooter, collector, and...

Someone needs to take a FOID case to SCOTUS

As a Chicago resident I will say that although these arrests and charges are a little scary, and the FOID does indeed suck, I would be surprised if these felony charges stick. The "progressive" State's Attorney here frequently dismisses felony charges, accepts a significant amount of plea...

AR15 Build - A2 style front sight block with non-integrated adjustable gas block?

Either of those setups would be ideal if I can get an adjustable gas block. Are these setups commonly called dissipator barrels? Perhaps that could help in my online search for components.

AR15 Build - A2 style front sight block with non-integrated adjustable gas block?

I plan to use a special binary style trigger that's going to require some tuning and tinkering to operate correctly, and I don't really want to assemble the upper twice if a standard gas block doesn't work out.

AR15 Build - A2 style front sight block with non-integrated adjustable gas block?

I'm not super familiar with those, do they provide as much adjustment as a gas block? Also do they require any qualified gunsmithing to install or tune properly? I'm hoping to avoid gunsmithing with this project if possible.

AR15 Build - A2 style front sight block with non-integrated adjustable gas block?

Hi guys, I'm building an AR15 and was hoping to go with more vintage-looking A2 setup, with the most important features being the classic A2 front sight paired with an A2 carrying handle. However, this particular build is going to require an adjustable gas block. I've built/assembled a couple...

Ithaca Model 51 Featherweight - very rough charging handle

Update: tested out the gun today with some live ammunition. Charging handle still very rough and it appears that the bolt does not go into battery fully when the charing handle is pulled all the way back and released. Had to manually push the charging handle forward to get it into battery, after...

Ithaca Model 51 Featherweight - very rough charging handle

I recently acquired an Ithaca model 51 featherweight. It's a semi-auto 20ga with a full choke barrel and 2+1 capacity, this model appears to be from the '80s. The gun is in great shape and doesn't appear to have any mechanical flaws. I haven't shot it yet but may test it out tomorrow. The...

Browning A5 Improved Modified Barrel (IM)?

Nice looking guns, both look really clean! I have seen poly, Cutts and screw-ins put on these but I am a bit of a collector and like to keep things original. If original A5 barrels weren't so expensive I would reconsider getting a throw-around barrel and having screw-ins installed.

Browning A5 Improved Modified Barrel (IM)?

Interesting. I have heard that Browning chokes are comparatively tight and I would be curious to see a pattern of both barrels.

Browning A5 Improved Modified Barrel (IM)?

This is what I'm thinking, and it seems like it wasn't a very popular special order item. I see Cylinders on eBay now and then but skeet and IC aren't common at all and typically fetch $200+, potentially even more if it's a shorter barrel with solid or vented rib.

Browning A5 Improved Modified Barrel (IM)?

As you probably know, chokes are fixed for these older A5s, and to switch them you need a different barrel. Most of the Belgian and Japanese barrels are interchangeable, some require minor fitting. I have a mid 1950s A5 that I use all the time, and love. I have the original full choke barrel and...

    Shotshell Display Case

Hello, I wasn't sure where to post this but figured here would be most appropriate. I have accumulated a variety of live and spent shotshells over the years, many are very old and interesting but likely won't ever be shot, others are just run-of-the-mill new production. They vary in...

Looking for a knowledgeable and ideally antique-savvy gunsmith in Chicago metro area

Good to know, thanks! I still want to be absolutely sure that it is indeed a 7x57mm as it lacks any markings. It's been sporterized and is pretty rough looking so wanted to have it looked at for safety as well.
