    CZ 82 vs. Bersa 380

Love my CZ-82's They really are a sweet gun. Cosmetically, all three I bought are from Classic Arms and are very clean. However, I did lightly sand and relacquer the slides on all of them. Very painless with spray lacquer from Ace Hardware. Have since sold one to a friend. As with many...

    CZ-82 Alert

CZ-82 prices moving up Went to the Gun Broker.com and found the CZ-82 prices were escalating fast ranging from $250 to more than $300 for a few. And in some cases one is lucky to get a holster or a second magazine, plus some looked to be in pretty shabby condition. I've notice that Centerfire...

    CZ-82 Alert

Christcorp, Hey, I tried to buy mak ammo while passing through Cheyenne last month. Had no luck. Several gun stores didn't carry it and several must have been Mom & Pop deals because they used phone mesages noting that they were only open after 5P. However, I did stock up last week on Silver...

CZ82 moves up to my #2 slot

Consider this:whatever paint remains is basically a primer or base coat that you lose if you take it down first to metal. If your gun is like mine its already lacquered. Why risk with enamel? And the black spray lacquer is a beautiful matchup with the bottom half which has a plastic surface. I...

CZ82 moves up to my #2 slot

Lacquering a CZ82 I masked the ejector opening, the silver sear in front of it and inside the barrel chamber. Also masked outside the firing pin. Only did the "top half" leaving the grips in place. None of my pistols really needed any work including the hammer and trigger areas.

    Disaster strikes... days before vacation

If your concern is brown or black bears they are a minimal threat. Grizzlies are another matter. They can match a quarter horse at short distances and we've had people in Glacier Park and the Bob Marshall Wilderness who had precious little time to squeeze off a killing shot. Use bear spray. Very...

CZ82 moves up to my #2 slot

CC: It didn't seem to impact the finished job by lacquering right over the existing lacquer. I did use some 00 gauge steel wool in places and again between two or three spray coats, but the color and finish matched well with the bottom half of the gun. If the finished gloss is excessive you can...

CZ82 moves up to my #2 slot

My own experience with the CZ 82 Purchased three CZ 82's awhile back and haven't been disappointed. All were in VG condition, but have made them even better looking by relacquering the slide portion in black. Wasn't up to going beyond field stripping with my limited expertise. Fired two of them...
