New online class - building a fighting AR-15

Hi fella's, someone just brought this thread to my attention and I hoped to clear a few little things up. First of all, I'm not anit-optics, I own both the EO and M68/Aimpoint and like them okay. I do find advantages to both optics and irons though and there are several reasons I have went...

    loctite question

Are you talking about an AR barrel? If so, no, the threads require a moly based grease and then the barrel nut be torqued to 32-80 lbs. Other rifles, I have no clue.

Permanent mounting of AR compensator or flash suppressor

Send it to Randall at http://www.ar15barrels.com/services.shtml . He does it for about 20.00 plus shipping if the barrel is off of the upper, not sure if it is still on, and does it right. He's worth a call. I do them without removing the barrel, but I'm way too backlogged with other work right now.

    1911 thumb safety problem

Byron, There is a PPC match week-end after this, the 22cnd. If you are going to make it, let me know and we'll check it out. I'll bring a few spare parts just in case and see if we can get it working for you. Just try to come a bit early, I like to try to get started on time but should have...

We are considering that. I just got signed up as a MEC dealer so I might just have to 'demo' one for the business you know. Waiting on a couple of Beretta 391's for us as we speak, so we are going to need to feed them.

Vid sent. Not the best quality. I need to get a digital video camera or something. Seeing the different machines in action might help some people make a decision.

Well,if things would only go that smoothly for an hour of loading for me. I normally load the 5 primer tubes I have and the machine. Load up the bullet tray and have a tray of brass ready to go. I can finish using up the 600 primers in an hour and a half including replenishing for the next...

    need unbiased opinion

Got the video and the numbers are good. Not rushed, just looks like a nice normal pace. I have to say it is the first time I have seen a true progressive in action. Don's no beginner. I have never really timed myself, but I load about 400 in an hour, but that is including changing trays and...

Deluxe Lee dies are carbide? Seriously?

Ditto. I am using the Dillon case polish right now since I bought a half dozen bottles, but when it's gone it's directly to Nu-Finish.

Sorting .45 ACP brass by number of loads...

+1 Shoot em, pick up what's laying around, clean em, load em, repeat. I've got several buckets of .45 brass and unsorted, mixed caliber brass, and cannot imagine sorting them. The only sorting I do is when I pick them up, I 'jingle'around in my hand and if I hear a cracked case I'll look...

    need unbiased opinion

I only load a few mettallic cartridge calibers, and am not one to experiment much. It has been basically a set-it and forget-it deal for me. I have two dillon 550's, one for small primer and one for large, and purchased them that way, so I don't even know how to change the primer system, so I...

    Anyone reloading shotgun?

Thanks for the links and info guys. I'm not sure if I'm saving money, but am enjoying the reduced recoil and being able to tailor my shells.

    Anyone reloading shotgun?

Thanks for the input. I've got enough to get started, but I like to do a lot of reloading while it's cool since my shop's airconditioning doesn't do it justice in our Georgia summers and I need to devote the mornings to customers work. I don't plan on doing any hunting, so I;m thinking of...

adjustable rear sight to replace Heinie?

Don't think you are going to find one then. The Heinie extreme low mount has the same sight cut as the Novack lo mount and the Caspian 4 way adjustable combat sight would work, but with the standard Heinie, I am not familure of a 'drop-in' alternative. Is your pistol shooting...

    Anyone reloading shotgun?

My daughter purchased a MEC 600 for me this Christmas along with bringing us a sackfull or hulls from the range, powder, wads, primers, and shot. We've loaded about 150 shells, she did most of them, but I'm running low on shot. I forgot to ask the club manager where he gets his supplies and how...

adjustable rear sight to replace Heinie?

Depends on the style Heinie cut you have. Is there a flat milled in front of the dovetail on top of the slide as well as the back or just at the back?
