I think the lesson here is vigilance. Dangerous tools require our utmost attention to detail and anything less is eventually prone to error. It's not whether or not THIS round was dangerous but rather was there an inherent danger in this situation.
I think this is an unacceptable risk and will...
I appreciate the replies. I most certainly checked all the other rounds and it's just the one. I'm going to alert the manufacturer and then dispose of the round (responsibly and without firing it).
I have reloading equipment but generally don't use it as time and patience just don't allow...
I pocket carry 99% of the time. I can't remember the last time I didn't carry. Business casual dress most often.
FR: Ruger LCP
FL: Spare mag and money clip wallet
RR: Knife (SOF flash II)
RL: Empty; keys on occasion when not sitting.
When not pocket carrying I do carry strong side...
When I have to leave it (very seldom) it just goes into the center console. My carry gun(s) are tools and while reliable are not prized possessions. I have insurance for a reason.
I honestly don't consciously look for this but today while rotating my carry ammo I noticed an fresh (previously unchambered) round in the box that was at least 1/8 of an inch shorter than the others in my Federal HST 124gr 9mm carry ammo. I'm guessing this round is unsafe to fire. Should I...
I've got a stainless loaded government that I've owned for about 8 years now. Love it and will most likely never part with it. I don't carry it very much due to size and weight but I would think it would be hard to go wrong with a Springfield.
Yeah I would think so. I paid $340 otd at the beginning of the year and still feel like it was worth it. I did have to send it back due to mags dropping during fire. Ruger replaced the polymer mag catch with a metal one and I've had no problems since.
At a bare minimum, for me, it would be a 1911 Government Model. What autos do you consider to be essential to a collection?
I mean this more from a shooter/collector standpoint than a SD tool standpoint.
For anyone else who would like to suggest that I read the manual, I have. This reason for this post was find out if any of the Glock internals needed a coating of oil after they were fully degreased to prevent corrosion not general lubrication.
I think from the other replies I have my answer...
That looks to be a Wyoming Arms Parker 10MM as seen here http://www.bren-ten.com/website/id59.html beyond that I've never seen, shot, or handled one. Hope that helps.
