    KAHR Reliability?

I have 3 Kahrs. All have been perfect. My wife took the cw9. I carry the cw45 often... it is a remarkably soft shooting 45, lightweight and easily concealable. I highly recommend Kahr...

    G21, XDM .45, M&P .45, decisions, decisions

The 'MATCH' part baffles me... I can't speak to the glock or smith, but I have an XDm 45. The trigger was mushy and very disappointing so I put a Powder river kit in it... it helped but I still don't get better than 3-4" 25 yard groups. I expected better from a "match" pistol. My Wilson, Baer...

Carry options for when you positively can't be "made."

J frame on the ankle is almost invisible. It's not a perfect solution, but it may be the best approach given your situation.

Gun control advocate has me tied up, need help

Why would someone intent on using a firearm to commit murder be concerned about being prosecuted for possession of an illegal firearm? It is illegal for felons in the USA to own firearms, yet many still do and commit more crimes. Gun control laws only affect those who abide by such laws...

    Kahr PM9, Any Good?

Mine runs perfectly. It is tiny... very easy to conceal, very accurate and has a great d/a trigger pull. I highly recommend the Kahr.

Gun control advocate has me tied up, need help

It seems that violent criminals prefer unarmed victims... go figure. http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=21902 http://www.straightdope.com/columns/read/2569/have-great-britains-restrictive-gun-laws-contributed-to-the-rise-in-violent-crime

close range coyotes with 9mm handgun?

LOL! Karma on fat guy... funny. That's what he gets for trying to play the lame 'friend' angle. All yotes must die. They tried to kill my 100 lb dog once... and would have succeeded if not for me being well armed. They came right up to the house to do it. The big male didn't make it...

    leupold vs Zeiss

I used to run all Leopold, until I hunted with a Zeiss. I'm in the process of replacing the Leopold's for Zeiss on my hunting rifles. If facing the setting sun, the VX3 gets very bad glare, so much that a shot is not possible. The Zeiss has NO glare in the exact same situation. The Zeiss...

    Question about hogs nervous system...

See how small the brain is??? Their head is a huge target, but the brain is not. To complicate things further, they have a large "shield" or "plate" that is made of heavy cartilage (purple area in pic). That shield is very tough and is the reason most folks suggest a 30 caliber minimum...

    Choosing a new revolver

I'd eliminate ANY revolver with a silly lock (Hillary-hole). Older Smith's are great. I'm also a big fan of the SP101. Get something pre-owned... save some money and maybe better quality.

New SP101 just arrived...a couple questions.....

Disassemble and de-burr it. Often times there will be small pieces of metal left inside the revolver that will cause excessive grittiness. If you really want a GREAT trigger pull, change out the springs and follow the instructions on the following thread...

Do Cold Steel Knives live up to the Hype?

A cool website: http://www.knifetests.com/ Nothing hangs with the Busse's, but they are quite a bit more expensive than the Cold Steels. Enjoy.

    mini-30 any good?

I owned one a couple of years ago. It was well made and very reliable with FACTORY magazines. I had some FTF problems with a cheap mag. Mine had no issues with a factory magazine and any ammo I fed it. The best group I could get out of mine was in the 3" range @100 yards. So if you want a...

Any reason to not get a Ruger SP101 ?

I loved mine till some dirtbag stole it out my wife's car. There will be another one in my future. They are great revolvers. The trigger is a bit rougher than the S&W, but that is easily fixed. Check out this thread on smoothing out the trigger pull a bit. Wolff has a kit that helps a ton...

    Renters Insurance and Reloading

Generally, there should be 2 policies on this property. The landlord should have a policy covering his interest, the dwelling itself. He doesn't own the contents of the dwelling. Your renters policy covers that, as well as liability. I've never seen a policy that declines coverage for...

best color hogue stock for middle GA deer?

Any will do fine. The deer seeing your rifle is a very minor issue. Controlling your smell should be your primary concern.

Please explain the allure of the 1911

Try to imagine a rifle-like trigger on a pistol. I understand your trepidation about the cocked and locked thing... but when you consider the pistol, and all it's safety mechanisms I'm not sure there is a safer pistol on the planet. The 1911 has, perhaps, the largest following of any...

New S&W Bodyguard, Move Over 642.

I probably have more miles on my 442 than any other firearm I own. It goes (almost) everywhere with me, and I'm a huge fan of the model. With that being said, I fondled one at the gun show today, and must respectfully disagree with the execution of the bodyguard j-frame. The ergo's are all...

so if i buy a .40cal glock i can put my glock 19 barrel in it?

Interesting comments. Storm Lake Glock conversion bbl = $150 9mm glock mag = $25 Total cost in conversion = $175 If anyone can find Glocks for $175, please let me know. Storm lake conversion bbl's work very well. It is an inexpensive way to get the best of both worlds. 3 bbl's, one...

    Best Home Protection Handgun

Anything with a mounted light is preferable because it is far more efficient that using a separate flashlight. Simply put, the barrel goes where the light goes. Also, you have a free hand if you need it. 18" bbl 870 with light also next to me by the bed. Shown: G23 w/trijicon NS...
