Strange, most people who are carrying concealed give themselves away by consently touching their weapon or the way they wear their clothing (ie tuck in their entire shirt other then where they have their gun. Many also have their premit the first thing you see when they pull out their wallet...
I could hit the target the first time with the .45 most of the time, with the recoil it is just a lot harder get the quick second shot in. My duty weapon is a .45. My point is two well placed .40 rounds in a small group are better than one .45. With the AK it is weapon designed for poorly...
Less "cool" and more useful. Grew up and realized that it did not matter how many rounds that a gun puts down range or how cool the huge gun looks, it matters if you can hit your target.
The pray and spray AK became an AR-15 and the .45 became a .40. I waste very little amo and hit the...
I also have a M&P 40 compact. If you have larger hands make sure you get the mags with the " pinky rests" . I have never heard them called that, but they make it fit better in my hand and me shoot better. Glocks are also fine weapons, I carried one as a duty weapon for many years. I never...
I am not saying it is right but I don't see this as a large an issue if the weapon was not an AK or similar weapon. I think that decision makers are going to view a person with an AK as a thug and make their decisions starting at that point. If the police get called to a situation like this...
Cheap and SKS in the same sentence, big surprise. I would advise to stay away an SKS or AK and save your money to buy something a little more reliable. Somehint that you hit what you shoot at the first time. Unless you are in a war zone you are responsible for every round you put down range.
Good IDEA
You are doing the right think leaving the world of "pray and spray" and entering the world of being able to hit what you shoot at with the first round. I really like my Bushmaster and Colts are very good.
I would take the 1911 over SW99. When I went to the police academy a whole group officers from another department had brand new SW99's. None of them went 10 rounds before having a malfunction. I am a big fan of the SW M&P's in fact I stake my life on one. However, I don't think SW did a very...
Mini-14's were cool in the A-Team on TV! But, think about it how many people ever got hit. Something like zero. There is a reason the armed forces have been using the M16/AR15 for more then 30 years, they work. Never mind the fact AR15's are used by a majority of police Tac Units.
How about two occations where fellow police officers were forced to turn over their issue firearms by court security officers? I was present for one of the two, the reason given was he was not wearing a suit jacket to "cover the gun".
The problem is there are a lot of officers who never spend a day in the military so the first time they had any formal firearms training is when they went to the academy.
Also no carry in Vt courthouses
I found that one out last week. I got summonsed as a witness in a Vermont Court and saw the nasty gram on the door. My depatment wants us to carry to court but seeing I was traveling across state lines and not knowing the rules I left it in my locker. At...
