My wife gave me the go ahead on a new rifle!

The thing about the 300wsm is that you won't get advertised velocity. My dad bought one in an A-bolt. The factory rounds over the chrony are 200 fps slower than what the box says. With handloads we can't get it past 2850 fps with a 165 grain bullet. We've tried all sorts of combinations, and...

The only thing better than a caliber thread or a poll thread is....

Someone already said it, but if you want all around performance in a light package, get the 280 in a Rem700 Mountain Rifle. Mine is an older model with the drop plate. I just spent some time loading up some rounds this evening for it. Some elk loads to try out, some deer loads that have...

    Mossberg 810 or Husqvarna?

Hi all, I've been a long time prowler, but this is my first post. I'm wanting to buy an inexpensive used 30-06. Choice 1 is a Mossberg 810a that is in decent shape. It has a detachable magazine. Asking $340 [Canadian dollars]. Choice 2 is a Husqvarna. This rifle appears to be a 70's vintage...
